I love Zhuiling, I also in general can't really ship these two with anyone else because for me anyone else doesn't work. Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi feel too much like twins/brothers and children of wangxian for me to ever feel comfortable shipping them together without it being weird.(Which is ironic because one could make the argument that Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui would have been cousins, not by blood but still, if Wei Wuxian didn't have his tragic ending in the first life. But oddly enough that doesn't bother me. Plus the tragedy of the lost potential of having this connection growing up intrests me. Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui were always ment to meet and be a part of each other lives). Lan Jingyi and Jin Ling dislike each other too much for me to enjoy shipping them together because all I can do is picture them fighting and not in a fun way. Also other than these two I don't really like shipping the juniors too much. I see them too much as ducklings and or babies. Zhuiling/lan sizhui x jin ling is the exception and works for me because symbolically they are the future and the hope for the future in the world of the untamed/mdzs. A Jin and a Wen getting along, becoming friends and eventually falling love. Helps heals the past of the generation before. Literally symbolically their love being a better future. Plus Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui just feel older than the other juniors to me. Even if Jin Ling acts the way he does. Also that politically they would be a good match together. Again to make a better future and better connections between Lan and Wens with the Jiangs and the Jins. It all comes full circle with Zhuiling/Jin Ling x Lan Sizhui. Also Jin Ling and Lan Sizhui just work together for me and they balance each other out. Lan Sizhui is calm, collected and everything a Lan should be while also having Wei Wuxian compassion and bit of mischief. While Jin Ling while bratty and spoiled at first, is brave, loyal, emotional. But is willing stand up and fight. Even when it's hard. Plus in away they both can understand each other's trauma. Bonding over what the last generation took from them. Why I over all love Jin Ling x Lan Sizhui as a sort of next generation story ship. Sometimes in the background for wangxian.
