Image Bruce Wayne was in Fawcett city when the time bubble got created. I’m talking about an early Batman Bruce, before Robin or Batgirl. He just went there to investigate this new hero called Captain Marvel to see if he wanted to be allies. Then the time bubble happened and he got stuck in Fawcett. Him and the big red cheese work together a lot now ( they’re father and son ) they have the Wayne Manson 2.0 and the bat cave 2.0. But this was before Superman or the Flash so when the time bubble broke both the Bat and the Champion didn’t know what to do. Both of them are socially awkward ( in this AU Billy got raised by Bruce so he kinda acts like him ). So all The JL gossips about the cryptids from Fawcett city.

Captain Marvel: I don’t actually live there. I just do my hero work in Fawcett since I started there. I would feel bad to take Captain Marvel away from the city when they need it so much.

Wonder Woman: Huh. Still, why won’t you root for Fawcett city instead?

Captain Marvel:... I moved to Gotham a year after starting my hero work.

Wonder Woman: Really?

Green Lantern: What?! The brightest and Happiest hero is a Gothamite!? You live in Gotham?! And Batman lets you?!

Captain Marvel: I never interfere with his business and I never use my powers in Gotham. Plus, he never told me I couldn’t live there.

Batman in the corner: You aware that I don’t your secret identity, right?

Captain Marvel:… That actually explains a few things.

Batman: Explains what?

Captain Marvel: We ran into each other a few times… Maybe abit more than a few times.

Bruce Wayne adopting a 9 year old Billy Batson, without knowing his secret idenitty, because he senses his desire to help people.

Bruce knows whats gonna happen next, Billy's gonna find out he's batman and start demanding bruce lets him help. But 9 years old is just too young to start, Dick only started at 12. So he makes sure to hide all the bat stuff really well and to his suprise Billy just never started poking around. He assumed Billy had just decided to do vigilante work on his own but no new vigilatnes were in gotham and any kids he did see trying to fight for a better world on the street didn't even go to the same school as Billy. He's so happy to finally have a kid that will allow themselves to have a normal childhood

until people on the justice league start revealing their identities and he finds out his son is secretly the man he had been working with for the past 5 years. That when he had adopted Billy and decided that he was way too young to start, Billy had already been living the hero life for over a year

I know I've literally got another au in the works already but i don't care man I love mythology and now they're gods >:)))))

Some info!

Katara and Sokka's face markings are based on the Painted Lady and Warrior makeup (respectively)-- on top of giving Sokka some winged eyeliner to resemble a wolf's markings (as the master of wolves), and a semi-circle on Katara's forehead as a symbol of equality (as the goddess of justice).

Gods don't technically "die" in this AU-- it doesn't happen often, but when it does, they usually become one with their domain. When Gyatso died, as the god of the wind, he turned into the wind and could only communicate through wind chimes (small signs/yes/no-- he can't communicate complex thoughts).

When Kya died, she turned into the starry sky. Hakoda, grieving his wife, would often study her form in the sky and learned to use the patterns of her stars to navigate, which made him become god of navigators.

When Kya died, people started praying to Sokka and Katara for matters of family and home-- it's not actually their domain, but they gratefully accept the duties that come with taking over for their mother.

Katara's necklace has sharp points in this to relate to her mother's star domain.

Katara's cloak is a sealskin (as the matron of sealife)

Yes, Sokka's leg is still hurt in this (still trying to figure out the story behind that, but I love when characters get permanent injuries in media and I'm KEEPING IT) he has a cane-- doesn't always need to use it but he has it!

Sokka's cloak is a polar bear dog's hide (as the god of hunting)

these are Bakker's diagram's from the meaning of meat and the structure of the odyssey, which do include calypso in the symmetry! the cicones are missing though, and scylla and charybdis have been separated (rightfully so if you ask me).

nolan’s odyssey is such a textbook study on the idiocy and dangers of presentism. yes of course penelope is a modern day feminist who wants to rule ithaca by herself. they make telemachus say that GREECE IS THE GREATEST CIVILIZATION IN THE WORLD as if the entire point of the massing of achaeans at troy for one unified cause isn’t spectacular precisely because THERE IS NO CONCEPT OF A UNIFIED GREECE NATIONS DO NOT EXISTTTTTT YETTTTT. literally 101 on historical writing is making sure that you’re avoiding strict periodization because the people living in a “period” will not identify themselves that way. ever. five million cheeky nods to “the sea peoples” but we’re being cute and coy and calling them “the people from the sea.” the obsession with xenia but refusal to call it xenia yes let’s say “zeus’s law” a hundred times and reduce it to the literal expectation that any stranger could be a god in disguise. how was penelope just hanging out in the main hall of the palace with her husband’s dinner guests while they were playing with weapons with her HAIR COMPLETELY DOWN no veil no nothing just chilling casually. comical. stoppppp making movies that engage in historical viewpoints if you’re going to slather a modernized coat of paint over the top. “the past is a foreign country, they do things differently there.” or fucking whatever.

The “nobody” scene in the odyssey is absolutely not just a clever pun—it’s a character defining moment for Odysseus because he refuses to be nobody. He devised an incredible plan that worked and he could have saved his men and returned home much sooner but he just had to yell to the cyclops that he isn’t nobody—he’s Odysseus, king of Ithaca so now Poseidon knows who to curse which severely fucks up the rest of the journey.

The “nobody” scene highlights both Odysseus’s cleverness but also his arrogance and those two traits define Odysseus throughout the entire story. It’s a foundational aspect of Odysseus’s character and cutting the scene displays a shocking level of ignorance and disregard for the themes in the source material.
