FIRST & THIRD Thursdays from 3-5pm CST It can be difficult to feel as we have permission to discuss the impact of sexual violence or to even know what resources are still available to survivors during the COVID-19 pandemic, physical distancing that's become necessary in order to protect all of us, and uprisings against violence towards Black people. However, survivors know that the impact of sexual harm knows no limits and may be more deeply felt as people practice physical distancing. Therapeutic practices and other self-care practices may have been disrupted or have become inaccessible. 1. Voting Rights For Survivors Of Abuse Or Stalking 2. Voters have the right to a secret ballot.  Survivors who travel to the polls with an abusive partner may face vote monitoring or intimidation. Poll workers should ensure everyone's right to cast a secret ballot is protected, and prevent invasions of privacy. 3. Voter records include your name and address. This can put stalking survivors at risk. Many states have address confidentiality laws which protect privacy for victims of domestic violence, sexual offenses, stalking, or family child abuse. 4. Address Confidentiality Programs prevent survivors’ addresses from becoming accessible in voter lists. In many states, you do not need to have filed a criminal case.
