Slutty Witch
I love that a bat flies out of her vagina and the only thing the doc comments on is how itās been awhile since sheās had sex.
The screaming 20s are here, are you screaming?
this is actually my favorite ask
this ask was sent in January, it is no longer my favorite ask
Another layer to this sequence is the moment when the son [Ki-woo] (Choi Woo-shik) instructs his father [Ki-taek] (Bongās longtime collaborator Song Kang-ho) how to act out the script they had written. āWhen they rehearse it looks like filmmaking,ā Bong remarks. āItās a humorous scene. In reality, the father is played by one of the most renowned actors and the son is an up-and-coming actor. Itās as if Ansel Elgort is teaching acting to Al Pacino. Itās funnier for the Korean audience.āĀ

itās so fucked up when you see something you KNOW is a portal to somewhere but you canāt figure out how to activate it. this is the most frustrating feeling that plagues modern man.
Iāve seen this post easily 12 times now and EVERY TIME itās just a different cat looking at a different door.Ā
All Iām saying is that the scene where Hamilton came to see Burr at night would have worked better as a Romeo and Juliet balcony scene with Burr in his nightclothes with bonnet.Ā
iām a real artist who went to art school.
Hereās some fun facts about one of my favorite stories being told in Hamilton: this is Ariana Debose, who plays a special role within the ensemble known as The Bullet. Sheās killed for suspected espionage right after Youāll Be Back, and is the first one to die (not counting Hamiltonās mother or cousin who hangs himself). After this moment, she becomes an omen of death. At the beginning of Stay Alive, she carries a shot that narrowly avoids hitting Hamilton. In Yorktown, she helps Laurens kill a redcoat, shakes his hand, then Laurens is the next to die. In I Know Him, sheās the one bringing the message to King George about John Adams and symbolically heralding the impending doom of Hamiltonās political career. During Blow Us All Away, sheās the one who tells Phillip where to find George Eacker, (and flirts with him! Phillip is literally flirting with death!) then Phillip is the next to die. In Your Obedient Servent, she brings the desk on stage and hands Burr the quill to write the first of several letters that will eventually lead to Alexander Hamiltonās death. During the final duel, she again catches a bullet (fired by Burr), and if you watch her, she gets closer and closer to hitting Hamilton while heās doing his soliloquy until Eliza pops onto stage. At this point, The Bullet is stopped by other members of the ensemble, the time freeze is abandoned, and we all know what happens⬠next. (soure: JC Payne)

will: I'd like a grilled cheese.
waittress: of course coming right up sir
hannibal: interesting... when one applies heat to the square slice of cheese on your sandwich, it will undergo a metamorphosis. What was once a solid now becomes liquid...perhaps too much so to contain between slices of toasted bread. Yet we will still call it cheese. Tell me Will, have you become difficult to contain under the heat of your past? Or are you still an innocent slice of cheese,
I feel like not having watched Hannibal makes these posts like 2000% funnier for me

Concept: retro-dystopian cyberpunk setting ruled by neo-feudal nobility who employ neurolinguistic programming techniques to secretly embed behaviour-altering triggers in specially crafted images and catchphrases distributed via popular social media platforms.
Iām flattered that people think Iām attempting some sort of commentary here, but this is literally just a long-winded setup for an extremely stupid pun.

whatās the pun
Meme Lords.
(If I were to run this as a tabletop game, theyād always be addressed by their full title, āMeme Lord [blank]ā, where [blank] is a punchy one-syllable noun. I bet you can already guess what a couple of those nouns would be.)
The fixation on trying to find a way to use the wordĀ ātwoā in the definition of bisexual is misguided, especially as the bi activists who paved the way for the community were never fixated on theĀ ātwoā prefix.
Itās also time to stop fixating on the idea thatĀ āregardlessā meansĀ āI donāt see genderā and realise that itās just a way of sayingĀ āgender doesnāt stop me being attracted to themā.
J: Are we ever going to be able to define what bisexuality is? S: Never completely. Thatās just it ā the variety of lifestyles that we see between us defies definition.
Boston Bisexual Womenās Network Newsletter, January 1984
I am bisexual because I am drawn to particular people regardless of gender. It doesnāt make me wishy-washy, confused, untrustworthy, or more sexually liberated. It makes me a bisexual.
āThe Bisexual Community: Are We Visible Yet?ā, The 1987 March On Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, 1987
The bisexual community should be a place where lines are erased. Bisexuality dismisses, disproves, and defies dichotomies. It connotes a loss of rigidity and absolutes. It is an inclusive term.
Martin-Damon, K., āEssay for the Inclusion of Transsexualsā. Bisexual Politics. New York: Harrington Park Press. 1995
Youāve just realized something strange about the humans. Theyāre a race that joined the galaxy recently, but youāve just found evidence of them already been part of it for many millennia before, but it feels like everybodyās forgotten.
We were delighted when the people calling themselvesĀ āhumansā joined the spacefaring races. They were clever and agile, hot-tempered and humorous, fierce and yet friendly, a young species with much to offer us.Ā
Most species are still delighted. But we are the Bybleotekar, the recorders of the spaceways, and we have begun to wonder. Our merry companions are⦠not different, but too much the same. They understand so readily, accept so quickly - most new species have trouble adjusting to dealing with aliens, to the realities of space travel, to the sheer bigness of the universe. But the humans are so adaptable, so ready for it all, they might be remembering something theyāve forgotten, not learning something new.Ā
Some of us, the Izaslanik of the Bybleotekar, the gatherers of information for the record keepers, began encouraging humans to join us, that we might study them more closely. They like the work - they are a curious species, delighting in new knowledge, and they make able assistants. My human companion is named Mira, a young female. She is a good companion, who sings sweetly and laughs often.Ā
When Mira struck the first blow against what I thought I knew of the universe, against illusions soon to shatter that I had thought were truth, we were attending the coronation of a lesser Netar of the Kktil, recording the customs and ceremonies and unofficially enjoying the colourful celebrations. Mira was watching the dancing, her mouth widened in aĀ āsmileā.Ā āItās so pretty,ā she said, her hairless face sheened with sweat under the hot sun.Ā āI love the turquoise jewellery.ā She pointed to the bright blue stones that bedecked the dancers.Ā āI should buy some. Our homeworld doesnāt have any turquoise, you know. Only a few pieces we brought with us when we came.āĀ
It takes me a little while to understand what she said. It is only later, during the feasting, that I turn to her again.Ā āYou said your homeworld doesnāt have turquoise. Only⦠what you brought with you. Do you mean turquoise you have bought offworld, since you joined the spaceways?āĀ

Iām reblogging this every time I see it.
AND COUNTING.
I want to wave a magic wand and show people what the US would look like without the labor of slaves. How many rich pedigreed families would have no wealth, how many buildings would not be built, how many fertile fields would still be scrubby woods, and how many bloodlines simply would not exist without nourishment from enslaved breasts and food from enslaved growers and cooks. We are all reaping what they sowed with their literal lives and to pretend otherwise is ahistorical and dumb af.
And if the objection arises that if there had been no slaves, white people would have made do without them, my answer is that the point is that slaveholders didnāt have to make do ā they were free to spend their energy on other pursuits which they have taken full credit for. Why did Jefferson have time to write? Did he give authorship credit to the slaves who freed up his time so he could put pen to paper and still eat?
Nope.
Oh
How much does a box of paper weigh?
Oh ā¦
I love how all these reblogs from ableds are like āboxes of paper are 20 pounds GOTCHAā as if every single person in a 60-person workplace needs to be able to lift a box of paper.
āWhatās that, James? You tore your rotator cuff? Sorry, we have to let you go. What if the printer needed to be refilled and the other 200 people in this building were home sick? It just wouldnāt be fair.ā
I deserve more intellectually challenging low-effort justifications for bigotry. Please try harder next time. 1/10.
hi! iām a secretary with a lifelong congenital back issue that i had fixed via surgery.
the first thing i want to point out is that the box of paper that @bransrathā posted is not the weight of the box. the 20 lb in that description is the paper weight, which is the amount of force a piece of paper can take before tearing. i know this because itās described as copy paper, and copy paper is by default 20 lb weight. so posting that picture as aĀ āgotchaā in response to this post is ignorant at best and intentionally ableist at worst. in reality, that box probably weighs no more than 15 lbs.Ā
secondly, i have never had to actually pick up one of these boxes ever. and i have to deal with them a lot, given that iām a secretary who, prior to the pandemic, was printing off 1000+ pages of booklets per week. iāve never had to pick these up because you can literally just open them, grab a ream of paper, and take it to the printer to load it in. thereās no fucking reason why you would need the whole box. most places, like my office, also store them on or near the ground because theyāre heavy, so what i do is a just drag the boxes to their designated corner until they need to be used.Ā
soĀ āmust be able to lift 20 lbsā is a tactic of discrimination, and thereās no excuse for it in office jobs like mine. i canāt actually lift more than 15 lbs and chances are, iāll never be able to lift more than 20 lbs. i can still do all the duties of my secretary job, though, and itās really easy to find work arounds for things like heavy boxes of paper. even i can, and my office literally employs 3 people including me. a weight limit is not a reason to deny someone a job.Ā

What if there was an apocalypse but some people were really really in denial and optimistic and thinking everything will be back to normal soon?

was anything going on in 2017??? did everyone randomly have prophetic visions????????
Another one from 2017 by @nullsynth
the words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
turns out we had the 2020 vision after all
āthe words of the prophets are written on the subway wallsā is actually a really fucking metal quote and i will be using it in the future
@handoverthehands itās from Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel. Referenced as well in Spirit of the Radio by Rush and again in Disturbedās cover of the original.
And that in itself was a reference to the Book of Daniel from the bible, when the words of the prophet were written on the Babylonian palace walls.
In the real world, itās not the kings and people in power who see the signs of doom, but the poor people in the subway, helpless to stop it.
Wow wtf HIV/AIDS was discovered by Flossie Wong-Staal, an Chinese-American woman, and sheās the reason the HIV test even exists. AND THEN she invented the molecular knife that lead to treatments for HIV/AIDS. And sheās STILL ALIVE. We donāt hear about the contributions of Women of Color enough, my word. Madness.
