Like, idk why everyone is just ignoring all the context leading up to this but Percy just found out his brother is DEAD and he blames himself for it. Then, this witch lady tells him that the thing about himself that he believes is his only good quality (standing up for others to the point of self-sacrifice) could actually kill not just himself but like everyone else too. This is after he just got news that he has to make a huge decision that will actually determine the fate of the world. He knows that if faced with a situation like the one where he just lost his brother, he would absolutely destroy everything to make sure it didn’t go like that again. And that’s terrifying to him! He doesn’t know wtf to do except tell the only friend he has left that he is dangerous because of this.

it’s torture for Percy to realize that not only has he broken his mother’s request AND lost Tyson completely, but his fatal flaw and the Great Prophecy’s choice will force him to make the same choice over and over again. he turns to Annabeth, the one friend he has left, the one he’s already sworn to trust and follow, and tells her the truth.

because at this moment, that’s all it is to him. simply the truth, the reality. he’s not going to lose one more person, even if the price is doomsday. i wholeheartedly believe he’d say the same thing if Grover was standing there instead of Annabeth.

We see Shane bringing Ilya a blanket as they’re watching the sun set over the lake. I’m almost 100% sure that Ilya would never have asked for Shane to bring him one because he’s not used to being taken care of.

But Shane brings something to keep the person he loves warm and comfortable outside.

Then when Shane goes outside to talk to his mother after being caught at the cottage with Ilya - he brings out her grey cardigan to keep her warm. So as they’re talking she can be comfortable and warm.

He’s settled. He’s secure. He knows exactly who he is and what he wants - to love and be loved by Ilya, openly, boldly, unapologetically.

That intense eye contact with Ilya’s mouth?

And the lead upto Shane’s bedroom, when he half-heartedly reaches for the blinds and Ilya disagrees -
