a rich man who wants more is poor. a poor man who has enough is rich. do not be fooled by outward show.

make something that will live on when you die. find someone who will love you when you’re real. go someplace where people dance, idle, and don’t judge. anything outside of that, or its likeness, is piss on the sidewalk.

dance when no one’s watching; dance when they can’t turn away. it’s joy that builds buddhas, not opinions.

“i don’t need anybody!” i spit. then a stranger’s smile lifts my spirits. “i can do it on my own!” i declare. then a breath of fresh air gives me life. “i don’t need any help!” i proclaim. then a soul-stirring book makes me remember.

whenever i am lost, i let my heart run wild. and it leads me  back to me  every time.

one day, you look up and see a soul. and suddenly, a pretty face becomes just a pretty face.

unravel your own mysteries; immortalize your own legends. you have been looking up to people you are on eye level with.

if only we opened our hearts the way we open our mouths.

stop killing yourself over the people and things that don’t give you life.

love?… love is looking into a stranger’s eyes and seeing your soul.

what is life? the melancholy of a passing woman? the careful steps of a stray cat in the rain? the quietness of a drifting autumn leaf? what is life? every painting? every poem? every teardrop? every dance?
