…WHAT THE ACTUAL F**K WAS THAT???

Looks like some of my previous post’s questions were answered, but now I got new questions.

If you didn’t read the previous post, in summary, one of my questions was whether or not Verity was either a sentient AI or an entity that got trapped in Minecraft just like the King in Yellow from SFAWTDE/DAWTDE.

Let’s get on to the analysis:

Here are my observations & theories:

No.1

Ok so y’know at the beginning of the video we saw Mob telling Verity he came back and saying that he didn’t ran further, almost like he regretted not listening to Verity or taking him seriously.

Honestly in my perspective, it looks like that one Rapunzel scene of Mother Gothel hiring those bad guys to purposefully get Rapunzel to go back to her highkey. (Very manipulative I must say)

In addition, the last thing Mob said before Verity turned back to normal was“Please, Verity.” (1:45-1:48 of the video). Now take note of this cus this is gonna be important later on in the analysis.

No. 2

Verity tells Mob a fun fact part. He says and I quote, “Copper oxidizes over time in Minecraft. If you don’t wax it, it changes. And no matter what, you can’t stop it.” In which Mob replied that’s kind of sad.

Now what this part catches my attention is not that Verity could’ve said any other fun facts, but that I get a feeling that it’s some sort of hint or foreshadowing.

Think about it, Verity has existed before Minecraft, and Verity had said before that he waits for Mob when he’s offline. (Highkey abandonment issues, can’t believe that headcannon became real tho I probably should’ve expected that)

This could possibly imply that Verity changed over time. The applying wax on copper could represent maintenance of the relationship between Verity and the current holder, in this case, Mob. If Mob doesn’t maintain the relationship with Verity, things could change (badly) and Mob wouldn’t be able to stop it.

No. 3 

At 8:16-8:18 of the video, Mob says the same words “Please Verity” during the scene where Verity gets angry cus Mob dropped him in lava. Verity immediately stops being angry when he said those two words.

These words “Please Verity” had been said twice in 1:45-1:48 and 8:16-8:18 and in both instances Verity immediately calms down. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

No. 4

From the video, Twixxel had written down that Verity came out before Minecraft existed, which means Verity could’ve existed in other games besides Minecraft or existed outside of the games.

“He doesn’t want to kill you.

Every person before you, he kept them as long as he could. When they tried to leave or fought back, he stopped them.”

This was also written down by Twixxel.

My question is that, what happened to those previous holders who had Verity? What does it mean when Verity stopped them and how?

No. 5

Twixxel has written that Verity can’t be destroyed as he doesn’t exist in the files. That answers my question and gave me the conclusion that he’s not a sentient AI but rather an entity.

“You have to force him to stop.” Now this is where things get interesting, my initial thought was how to force an entity that literally can kill you to stop? But here’s where my points No. 1 and No. 3 come in.

The words “Please Verity” seem to become a key word in getting him to stop immediately. I know it only happened twice but it seems that Verity stops when Mob was pleading him.

No. 6 (longest one)

The cipher and the possible ending.

The cipher is an interesting piece to work with. I’m not an expert on ciphers but gathering some other theories and translations by other creators made me have some idea of the possible ending.

Credits to @thejestofit for the translation of the cipher that I’m using for this analysis, there are two different types of ciphers used (lol SFAWTDE ref/) and the translation of the cipher is SENDHIMHOME.

Now obviously this seems to be a solution to get rid of Verity in a way, but what is “home” to Verity? 

That’s where the headcannon from @xern0us fanfic “Deal with The Devil” comes to play. (Go read it btw it’s peak art and peak fic) According to the first video “Something is knocking at your door”, Verity came from a cardboard box which disappeared when opened. 

In the fanfic, the headcannon is that the box can seal Verity. This can be one of the possibilities of stopping Verity.

Another possible ending can be found by @translucentframework-posting post.

To summarize their post in points:

XSI which was part of the cipher, SoftImages|XSI appeared and it’s a “discontinued influential 3D graphics application” (with some further research of mine, officially released on August 2000, about 9 years before the alpha release of Minecraft and 11 years before Minecraft’s official release)

Reference to Romeo and Juliett story by Shakespeare 

November Rain is a song of unrequited love and the process of accepting that a deep relationship must come to an end.

Their theory is that of a story similar to the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, one faking their death, and the other following them in death because of it. (I love your theory btw @translucentframework-posting if you’re reading this)

Which I propose a third possible ending inspired by the information I’ve gathered.

It’s more of a bit of a spin off from the Romeo and Juliet theory but it goes more of where Mob kinda threatens Verity with his own life to get Verity inside the box to be sealed. 

Why I think this may work? Well, the book did say that Verity doesn’t want to kill Mob, and he has prevented others from leaving or fighting back. This implies Verity might care for Mob to the point he doesn’t want Mob to die.

While yes, in the first video, Verity did chase Mob, did eat the villagers, and even killed Twixxel. If he wanted to hurt or kill Mob, wouldn’t he already done it sooner? Even during all those times Mob upset him? Have we ever seen a scene where Verity physically attacks Mob?

Genuinely I understand Mob reacting the way he does with Verity- BUT I SIMPLY CAN'T RELATE. I have always had a love for truly sentient ai and Verity just SCREAMS that. If i was ever in Mob's situation, I doubt I would even GET the first attack. Because I'm a bootlicker and I get severe obsessions and Verity would get glued to me bro.

On a side note I would like to mention that Verity doesn't really sound like he's threatening Mob in the "it's already over Mob! You're mine! Mob!!" Unless you look at it at face value; it's more like a warning. If you listen to his tone of voice is almost like verity is pleading for Mob not to struggle. He's sounds as if he's in pain. The way Verity gets more frantic as that scene plays out is almost like begging. Especially since Verity is obsessed with him, it's clear Verity didn't want to hurt Mob
