"what is it, feenie?" she can't help but turn her head inquisitively, trying to determine what he's hiding behind his back.

If anyone else in the world called him Feenie, he would have hated it. But the way it sounded coming from her was so precious. Almost every time it made his heart skip a beat. He could only hope she liked his piece. He knew she was a little shy at times. He slowly moves gouache painting out from behind his back. It was a smaller portrait so he could easily carry it around. He already submitted it and got a good grade to boot. He was just lucky the professor let him take it to give to her. He said something about "young love". The portrait of her was, according to his professor, good. But it still paled in comparison to her actual beauty. "I... Thanks for the A, Dollie." His cheeks were on fire. "But I actually... Painted this for you."

"Dollie, guess what?" He wasn't exactly shy about his affections for her. He wasn't the type to hide his feelings, usually. He had been working on a project for a little while now and he couldn't wait to show it to her. Even though he was studying law, his primary focus was art. Which is why, for this project, he decided to make her his muse. Well... It wasn't really a choice. She just had a vice grip on his mind.

Okay some random headcanons for Maya that I have had Forever :tm:

So I use the localization lore and names. But I still see Maya as a Japanese character. Her family, the Feys and the branch families, anglicized their names. So Maya actually is Maya Fey but I also use her original name as her "Japanese" name. So she is Ayasato Mayoi, but ALSO Maya Fey. The only people that use her Japanese name are her family and people at the channeling school. She usually speaks Japanese when speaking there. Maya is bilingual and speaks fluent English and Japanese. Her and Mia, however, usually spoke in English to each other.

Maya is bisexual with a HEAVY female lean. Most of her male crushes look pretty androgenous anyway. We see her in the game talk about the appearance of other women constantly whereas her interest in guys is only ever shown for celebrities.

Maya sees Phoenix as a big brother figure. He kind of adopted her as a little sister when Mia died. She has no interest in him whatsoever despite other people thinking it at times.

She keeps a journal that is just... letters to Mia so that if she ever channels her, she can read about her thoughts and feelings and know what is going on in her life.
