“Samuel?” her voice is in his mind but so far away. “Samuel, can you hear me?”

He feels like he’s underwater, his limbs are heavy, his vision is blurred. Then she comes into view, so clear like he’s coming up for air.

“Samuel,” she repeats, smiling, looking down at him.

“Rowena?” he asks, not hearing his own voice, but feeling it leave his body.

She nods, reaches for him, combs her delicate fingers through his hair, brushes a thumb over the shell of his ear. “You boys challenge me so,” she says with a lilt of whimsy, perhaps even affection. “And I know I challenge you. Especially you.”

She drags a fingertip down the side of his throat, watching it bob as he swallows.

He swallows and swallows. He’s swallowing air and thoughts and sensations. The way she’s touching him is simple. It’s easy and light and delicate, but Sam can’t help the way his body is reacting to her nearness, her tone, the sultry sparkle in her eyes. He can’t stop it.

She feels cool and light as she straddles him.

My favorites change over time but here are my current ones.

Why Don't You Stay and its companion, Let's Make It Last ~ A couple of my earliest fic posts (fair warning😅). This story signified a shift in my style, and I physically felt that change as I was writing it. I still had a lot to learn (always will), but these will unfailingly be on my list of favorites when asked.

Evermore ~ I have several angsty fics, but I think this is the angstiest I've written so far. I sobbed while typing it.

Rumors ~ A four-part series that just flowed. So much pain and regret between these two. My first fic to include a Narrator POV, and I loved how it turned out. I also really enjoyed writing in that comparative style to show their similarities.

The Girlfriend Who Remade Christmas (In Progress) ~ Fluffy, fluff! Writing characters who have an established relationship makes me happy. Their familiarity with each other creates opportunities to add fun, quirky details. The research to find new adventures and experiences for Nic to share with Dean has probably been the most fun I've had in the writing process. This series also has an interactive companion piece, which was so much fun to put together. I'm looking forward to getting back into this one.

I Can Explain ~ The most recent favorite. It's my first time writing Beau, so it's just a little ficlet, but I chuckled while writing the scene and picturing him in the middle of it.

I feel like I miss this part of him so much in the later seasons. They made him a lot less effective in snark and smarts in favour of weird narratives about, like, anger or some shit idk. (Dabb era, my beloathed).

He's soooo smart and definitely ADHD and it deserves as much recognition and representation in fanworks as the autistic angel. He's constantly observing everything around him, including others' mental states and clocking things as they happen. Give him his adhd rizzzzz.

he is cosmic as a character. no one person is in control of him and yet he emerges as complex and interesting because he’s the product of so many minds and so many aspects of creative input. there are a lot of people behind the scenes and they’re all projecting onto dean and reading dean in different ways. so like. jensen can have his opinions on dean and people can agree or disagree but either way he’s not the end all voice of dean winchester. that’s not how creative collaboration works.
