i will never be against piracy ever but i also need physical media to remain
the average blockbuster carried about 3x as many films than that that are streaming on Netflix or any other streaming service, physical media along with piracy is more important than ever.
I thought this wasnโt true, because how could it be true? How could one small store have more movies than an online database? So I googled it.
I am surprised and depressed to learn itโs 100% true, according to google. A Blockbuster store was required to have a minimum of 7000 titles, but most averaged about 10,000. Netflix has 4000 movies. (And 1800 tv shows if you want to count those, but even included, itโs still less)
Now Iโm even more depressed about the collapse of physical rental stores.
BONUS: They weren't beholden to Who Owns What IP Right Now. They got videos from everyone. You didn't have to pay separately for the rights to rent from the Disney Shelves and the WB Shelves and bler bler bler, and they only STOPPED having those movies when the tapes broke or someone never returned 'em.
friendly reminder that your local library will have lots of physical media and if they don't have what you're looking for you can most likely ask them to purchase it or order it from another library through interlibrary loan

Back to taking notes. I had to quit my job yesterday because of my stupid ADHD. There was just too much to learn and I couldn't keep up. I just can't remember what people try to teach me. My mental health went down the drain. I couldn't do it anymore. Now I'm lost. On the bright side, the weather has been really nice and I saw some cute ducks, so there's that...

Back to work today after getting home and having a chilled weekend seeing family & listening to lots of records! I got my copy of Steven Wilsonโs new album, The Overview, in the post and itโs a beautifully packaged record as well as being a phenomenal album. Iโm starting off easy today with my lecture reviews from Friday & then planning my revision for the rest of Easterโฆ

@onigiri-studies officially turned one year old yesterday! ๐ฅณ๐ Slowly trying to ease myself back into studying.
What i did today:
- รถsd B1 test (Leseverstehen und Sprachbausteine-i'm happy to say that I only made one mistake)
- started to journal (it's very fun tbh, especially since I have a pocket printer and can make my own stickers or print templates if i want to)
28.12.2022 - I've been attempting to finish a couple of books before the end of the year and updating my journals. I should probably be working on my essay but I'm so tired that I can't face it until term starts again.

As I am organizing and writing my thesis, I thought I would share the template I usually follow in order to make my academic writing experience more bearable. I made this myself, learning what worked best for me through (much) trial and error.
I know writing a big paper can feel extremely daunting, but this may be able to help you relax a bit. Once you โfill outโ this โtemplateโ with all of the information it requires, youโll realize that all you have to do is write a few paragraphs, weave in some quotes, and youโre good to go!
