love at first sight: the feeling of entering a new cafƩ and falling in love with it right then and there.
Reminders for the Anxious/Depressed Creatives
Youāre more than what you make.
Your productivity does not determine your value.
Itās okay to do nothing sometimes.
Not everything you do has to result in a product.
Not everything you make has to be important, significant, or even good.
You can make things just for yourself.
You can keep secrets for yourself, whether itās not posting some of your projects or not sharing your techniques.
Youāre allowed to say no.
Youāre allowed to rest.
reblogging this again because I need it

Resume Basics
having a strong resume is crucial for job applications, scholarship applications, college, etc. it is a sales tool and, ultimately, the first impression an employer/application reviewer will have of you. therefore, you need to make it interesting and impressive. below, i have listed a few tips and need-to-knows to help you build your resume. keep in mind that this list is geared toward industry jobs. while the information is still useful, it may be less relevant for those applying to digital marketing/design jobs.Ā
General
make different versions of your resume. by this i mean, have a master resume that lists everything. then, from that master resume, make specific resumes for each opportunity you are applying for.Ā
in high school/university, it is usually best to keep your resume to one page. unless you have done substantial work and are capable of filling up two pages, it is best to keep it short and concise.
always review your resume before submitting !! it is crucial that your resume does not include any typosĀ
FormattingĀ
keep your formatting consistent throughout your entire resume
use 11-12 point font, your name/headers should be no bigger than 14 point font
have a 1 inch margin all around your resume
do not include decorations (unless you are applying to a digital marketing/design job where aesthetics matter !!)
keep your font selection professional. my personal favorites are times new roman, garamond, and helvetica.
do notĀ use caps unless it is for headers/titles (but even then, use caps at your own discretion)
Sections/Components to Include
name & contact info (phone number, email)
summary/3-5 second snapshot of your greatest accomplishments
job/internship/related experience
publications & speeches
awards & recognitions
memberships & affiliations
certifications
language skills
special/technical skills
extracurricular activities
Synonyms/Power Words
instead ofĀ ānew,ā useĀ āunusualā orĀ āinnovativeā
instead ofĀ āimproved,ā useĀ ābetterā orĀ āfasterā
assessed/measured/quantified
conducted/performed/undertook
created/designed/developed
optimized/maximized
increased/reduced
spearheaded/led/directed
~~~
please let me know if you found this helpful !! i would love to post more comprehensive tips on cover letters, interviews, networking, developing your linkedin, etc.
this is the perfect grade of good luck
reblog in 5 seconds and all of your grades will inch ever closer to perfect
ā³ thursday 18.09.06.
worked a super long and suuuuuper slow shift at the welcome table for incoming international students, but had the best time bonding with my shift mates! always try and make connections with your colleagues, it makes work feel like play~ now iām jumping between chineseĀ vocab review on quizlet and finishing moving back into my old room at my parentsā house (which iām moving back out of in like three weeks lmao why am i even trying?)
The "Secret" To Doing Well in School:
Start on day one and donāt stop until youāre done.
As much as you will want to go hang out with your friends the second you get out of class on the first day, resist it. Head to the library, your room, or wherever else it is you get work done and just do it. On the first day you will have such little work to do that it will seem too insignificant to start right away. However, this helps set up the rest of the semester for you. If you can get in the habit of thisĀ before the work load gets daunting then procrastination will no longer be an issue. Sit down after your classes and finish all your work (or make a plan on how to finish it) before you relax. Simple as that. Do that and cramming will no longer be your life. If you think thatās too overwhelming, try challenging yourself to do that for 30 days. After the 30 days it will become a habit!
But maybe youāre of the opinion that procrastination is fine and that you do pretty well regardless. Thatās fine. But think of how much easier studying would be if you didnāt procrastinate. By the end of week one you would have all of week oneās material down pat. You would have the opportunity to quickly review in the coming weeks instead of still struggling to learn it all. Then come the weekend before the test you will simply be reinforcing what you already know instead of struggling to have complete knowledge of what youāll be tested on.
Boom. That A is easily within reach.
The culture behind procrastination unfortunately only ends up feeding the habit. The idea that procrastination is just a thing that everyone does and jokes around about is the worst part. Well, itās time to take it seriously! There actually is no secret to doing well in school! You already know what you need to do. So start doing it!
this is still one of my favourite posts on here
accidentally reblogged to my main lmao
This is exactly what I try to do tbh and iT WORKS
