What
What the fuck
I have to say I love the increasing amount of tik toks made by 20-somethings that start out as pretty fair criticisms of types of people most of us meet at one point or another, but that gradually turn into surrealist horror where youāre not sure how they started anymore, and then abruptly loop back to the starting point at the end. Itās fucking surreal and I love it
People who love cold weather are fucking weird. You like to freeze? You like to shiver?? You like when you take a step outside and the air stings your skin???
Forward-facing eyes means theyāre predators now
friend
this still cracks me up like can you imagine youāre 130 years old and suddenly a gigantic alien baby starts following you around

As a mass comm major, IF THERE IS SOMETHING UNJUST OR IMMORAL BEING DONE CALL YOUR LOCAL NEWS STATION THEY WILL HELP MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE
Cities and government agencies HATE bad press. This story that was told to me by the journalist that covered this, and he showed us the piece:
There was a traffic light that was set up on the far side of an overpass, but it was improperly hung so you couldnāt see the light until it was too late. There were accidents there EVERY SINGLE DAY and calls to the city did NOTHING.
Someone had the idea to call the local news station and this dude went out to see. As he was interviewing someone, there was a wreck.
Guess what happened after that piece aired?
Suddenly the city had the time to lower the traffic light and the accidents stopped.
Journalists get a bad rep, and while big stations like Fox deserve it, I think more thought should be given to who youāre actually shitting on when you say āI hate journalists.ā Because weāre overworked, underpaid, constantly shit on, but we still do the job because we want to help people. All professional, prestigious journalists that Iāve met hate the government and will do whatever they can to get the information and change thatās needed. Being a journalist is a dangerous profession: at every professional convention Iāve been at thereās a fund for the families of journalists that have been killed (thereās a lot!) and a long memoriam roll.
SUPPORT LOCAL NEWS STATIONS
I sneaked a video camera into my dorm when it flooded and showered black mold down on us from leaky ceilings. Got footage of light fixtures leaking water, tiles covered in mold, ankle-deep water on the seventh floor because it was coming in through uncaulked windows. Took video of girls crying over ruined textbooks, computers, personal items. Sent it to the news.
They came and did an interview with the head of resident life, who tried to convince them it was just a couple of isolated incidents and disgruntled students. However, he also wouldnāt let them into the actual dorm.
ā¦.so I did interviews with students from three different floors and asked each one how many people on their floor were flooded out.
Sent that to the news station, too. Along with the information that the college had told us we did not need renterās insurance, but was now telling us to go through our renterās insurance and that they couldnāt replace anything.
SIX WEEKS LATER the university unveiled plans for a new set of dormitories.
And when a pipe burst in one of said dormitories the first year it was open, they paid all damages and for alternate housing. No questions asked.
āNina, youāre not a journalist, though.ā
No, Iām not. But at the time, I WAS a journalism major. And I turned a bunch of raw, smuggled footage (yes, smuggledāthey were refusing to let cameras into the dorm!) over to professional editors and journalists, and they turned it into a coherent story.
Love your local news. They are good people.
I think a lot about that Fruits Basket story where the onigiri (rice ball) thinks its plain and bad with nothing special about it
but everyone else actually admires it because of the delicious plum on its back that it canāt see
anyway, Iām going on a second date with a girl soon and couldnāt help but thinkĀ āWhy would she want to keep going out with me?? Iām like, so weird and a little crazy.ā
but then I remembered that there is also a plum on my back that I canāt see and that people often like others for reasons we donāt recognize in ourselves. Be kind to yourself. Thereās always something good about someoneā however little we remember it.
canāt believe it took me this long to realize that the reason ppl like me is because of my fat juicy ass
Dragon Baby Jr! Of course I had to make a dratini to go with the Dragonair. Dratini is made from the same base pattern I used to make Dragonair, a modified version of CholyKnights Snake pattern. I would love to make a Dragonite at some point to finish the line. Dratini is available on my Etsy Store!
ā MY ETSYā
This is what Rasputin would've wanted.
I feel like I'm being seduced like one of those fancy rainforest birds
is it working
Yes

ānot all copsā
I work in a non-restraint facility for special needs kids (21 and under) with extreme behavioral issues. Iām talking real violent stuff. Sixteen and twenty-one year old boys who can (and do) home-run swing desks at your head.
As a non-restraint facility, we are trained to respond to these outbursts in the most non-threatening, non-confrontational way possible, while still protecting both the bystanders and the person currently attacking us.
We are monitored every second of our shift to make sure the safety and dignity of our clients is maintained, especiallyāand just let me emphasize thisāthe safety and dignity of the person attempting to hurt us. Their right to be treated fairly and with empathy is not forfeit just because their brain chemistry fucked them up today.
We have to be calm, regardless.
We have to be gentle, regardless.
We can never respond with any kind of force, ever.
Those rules apply to all the staff, all the time, no matter what.
So when I hear bullshit about how somebody āreached for their waistbandā or they were āresisting,ā when I hear yet another police officer got off because the situation was āscaryā or heĀ āfeared for his safetyā or whatever the fuck, I lose my shit.
You wanna talk about how you were frightened for your safety, walking up to someone in the middle of a psychotic episode? Yeah, well, Iāve been there. Pretty regularāprobably twice a week, at leastāno gun, no taser, with guidelines that state I cannot even use my fucking thumb because thatās considered āgrabbingā and therefore a ārestraint.ā
And you know what? Iāve walked away from every one of those. I havenāt died. Iāve never even been seriously injured. We defused the situation in ways that didnāt involving riddling the other participant with bullets and at the end of the day, everyone went home. Go fucking figure.
And yetāand fucking yetāI keep hearing ānot all cops.ā
āNot all copsā are bad. āNot all copsā shoot innocent people .3 seconds after rolling up on the scene. āNot all copsā are racist fuckbags, misusing power for a personal joyride. āNot all copsā rape people at gunpoint (and get off scott-fucking-free).
Yet, at my place of employment, somehow everyone is calm in a crisis. Somehow everyone responds to violence with non-violence. Somehow everyone is always able to act like a goddamn compassionate human-being in the middle of the worst kind of street fightā
but youāre telling me that cops, people paid to protect, canāt all do what I do?
Youāre telling me that cops, trained to respond to crises, canāt all respond to the same crises, with the same skill, that I do?
And youāre telling me that cops have to stick together in the face of these āpotentially falseā accusations. That cops have to support each other, no matter what, because their job is dangerous or whatever. That yeah, some cops, but ~actually, sweetie, not all cops~
Fuck that noise. My job is dangerous, too. But you better believe that if anyone sees a member of our staff breaking regulation, their ass gets reported immediately. That person loses their clearances; they can no longer be hired in the field, anywhere. Thereās no moving to another district. Thereās no finding another location. We make it stop.
So until every cop is cleaning house, until every cop stops this strategically blind bullshit,Ā until every cop refuses to stand by and watch the rampant abuse and corruption inherent in this system, until all the bad cops are weeded out and unemployableā
Until that moment, then yeah, all cops.
I wrote this in 2015. Five years ago, I thought weād have made some sweeping changes by now.
