It's not that I don't want Nancy to be happy or think that she could never be happy without Jonathan or a relationship. But under the circumstances... no, I don't think she's ever going to be happy alone in Boston. Period. Even if you take Jonathan out of the equation, I just know she's miserable there. Probably in the minority on this one, but I don’t feel like Nancy’s trauma was overlooked on the show at all. I just think people forget, or a lot of times intentionally don’t want to give Jonathan the credit for helping her through it.

Off the last reblog from @throttlegainwell talking about the Jonathan/Joyce relationship it’s interesting to me how Will would try and fill that gap. In the end he loves both, but I do think he’d take Joyce’s side in something that really hit both hard.

I dunno, I just find the way they wrote the Byers post-season two to be so depressing. That shot from 204 of Jonathan staring at his mother and brother sleeping in his little bed, an outsider to their relationship, just haunts. I can’t believe they’d really want us to think that’s what becomes of the Byers, but it’s hard to see it any other way. Not after the indifference shown towards Jonathan by Joyce in that season.

Depressing shit. Jancy had a breakup scene and I feel legit more hopeful about that relationship than Jonathan/Joyce. It sucks.

I guess they just wanted to prove season one Joyce wrong about how Jonathan is, in the end, alone.

if you've read the original script for the teen epilogue scene, you'd know why the four actors were freaking out. it's abysmal.

Jancy breakup because they wanted single Nancy. But you can see why the Duffers say it could happen again.

Nancy was headed down the path of most suburban girls go down in season one, which is what her arc is about (and why Stancy was ALWAYS doomed)

Jonathan single-handedly saves Steve while everybody else stands around, dicks in their hands, being profoundly fucking useless and then afterward not ONE of them checks on him? Thanks him? Asks if he’s okay? Or even ACKNOWLEDGES him?!

I’d have had Jonathan look around at those ungrateful assholes, go, “Oh, okay, cool” and shove Steve’s ass right back off the tower.

Catch him yourselves this time. Dustin has arms. Robin has arms. Let them figure it out since they’re apparently president and vice president of the Steve Harrington fan club. Ingrates.
