The fact that Steveâs the only one in this picture who never killed a guy sends me for some reason.
why do Jonathan stans always forget/omit jonathan is pervert?
Huh?
The photo incident is constantly discussed when it comes to Jonathanâs character, and Iâve not seen anyone make excuses for it. Analyze and clarify parts, sure, but I donât see how that is in any way endorsing it.
We donât talk about it 24/7 because it was ten years ago and the discourse about it was so intense that essentially everything about it has already been said. I donât need to preface every single analysis of Jonathan with an acknowledgment of that sceneâs existence, just as Steve stans donât need to do the same with the theater incident. Theyâre important scenes to analyze in terms of character growth, and when it comes to their relationships with Nancy, but we donât have to disclaim them each time we talk about the character.
If you dislike Jonathan because of that scene, then fine. I get it. But itâs bizarre to come to my inbox and ask me a question that you, quite simply, already know the answer to.
I really should post about Robin more often because she is one of my top three characters. Idk if I donât because of discourse reasons or what but she does bring me a lot of joy and I should show her love more often.
Season 5 Jonathan is so odd to watch, because heâll have a moment and Iâll be like âwow, this is the most the writers have respected him in seasons!â And then five seconds later thereâs Bad Writing and my reaction changes to ânope, nevermind I guess!â This process repeats several times over before miraculously ending on the former. Somehow. Mostly. Thanks, show!

The thing about Nancyâs arc is that while thereâs certainly plenty to criticize, Iâve noticed some sects of the fandom going a little . . . overboard with it. Itâs one thing to believe that the show should have spotlighted her vulnerability more instead of just making her a girlboss. But there have been a truly shocking amount of people acting as though she never means what she says, and that her actions are always to blame on other people. Thereâs no nuance to be found, and that really bothers me.
Working very hard to stay out of shipping discourse (at least for a little bit.)
However . . . I did have to read a sentence claiming that the S2 writers were pushing for a âpro-Jancy agendaâ and Iâm sorry but that is fucking hilarious.
One of my favorite things about season 1 is how well every episode fits together. At some point during every other season, Iâm like, âugh, not *this* episode.â But Season 1âs just banger after banger.
Itâs quite delightful. And I really, really miss how that felt.

Saw a post about how Nancy would have wanted the flowers/emotional-support in S5 because âshe was scared of the Demogorgon in Season 1 and wanted Jonathan there to support her!â
Which. In addition to the different stakes of each situation . . . Do yâall not know how character development works?
Nancy having to wear heels for 78% of Season 4 was DIABOLICAL. Let her feet rest!
I donât go here, so please correct me if Iâm wrong, but I find it pretty ironic that Euphoria started off as a show about a group of primarily teenage girls navigating their emotions and traumas in relation to the patriarchy . . . And seemingly just ended with two guys in their fifties having it out in a revenge-fueled strip club fight.
Jonathan may have lost a lot in season 5 but, hey: at least he didnât lose his blue jacket.
Iâm having another #hatermoment but it is very bizarre how some fr*ity four fans seem to genuinely believe that Nancy has more loyalty to Eddie, a guy she knew for 4 days and who promptly died than to Jonathan, her long term boyfriend who she loves deeply. Like say what ever you want about s4 Steve and Robin, they donât care about Jonathan, but NANCY????
I do not believe she would shoot someone for âreplacingâ Eddie with JonathanâŠ

Iâve been thinking about Season 4 again (much to my chagrin), and the thing thatâs always bugged me about Eddie is that he just feels so transparent as a character.
Bobâs role I could understand; he felt naturally embedded into Hawkins and its characters. Alexei was a trope from the start, but I can see the logic of wanting to portray a likable Russian character that wonât stay around for the long-run. It was predictable, but it still made sense.
With Eddie, however, I immediately clocked exactly what the writers were doing and I hated it. A new, prominent high-schooler thatâs close to Dustin, makes sarcastic comments, and is misunderstood, poor, and massively into music? The levels of character redundancy are off-the-charts. And when you combine that with a low-effort âcharacter arcâ that also feels rinse-and-repeat, the blatancy of it all is practically dripping off the screen.
There is just such a cynical undercurrent to his character and itâs always bothered me. He feels less like a person and more like a crafted group of archetypes, and in a show that always prided itself on honesty and the warmth of humanity, he sticks out like a sore thumb.
