Oh man, it’s been a solid four years since I’ve taken a Baroque class so I’m a little old rusty. 

Baroque is all about drama and exaggeration; the more the better. This didn’t just go for the composition but it was also for the colors and new techniques that were being used. Intense shadows created by chiaroscuro and tenebrism helped create movement and the sense of drama (my all time favorite techniques). 

My main takeaways from Baroque: Intense. Dramatic. Religious (but then again, what wasn’t…). Realistic. Fucking fantastic.
