Chapter 12 is out now!Ā
Summary:
Pax (known as Pit) and Elias are two teenage boys from a crime-ridden neighborhood in Jersey. They live next door, sharing a wall. Curse of a duplex, they both think. Despite this, they've never interacted more than the occasional words passed at the bus stop when they were kids, or physical altercations.
Pit is well known, though, as a violent psychopath, as anyone within a 30-mile radius would tell you. But no one actually knows him. In the same way, no one knows Elias is secretly a huge nerd, or that he dreams of killing his father.
But one night, they take off together, leaving behind a dead body and burned-down houses. Over the course of a week, they get to know one another more than they ever thought possible. As they try to avoid the police and their own feelings.

Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.
Reblog if you're okay with people coming into your DMs with the "you seem really odd and your blog intrigues me, do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters"
Writers when the dots start connecting SO BEAUTIFULLY but thereās NO ONE TO TALK TO ABOUT IT

and here, we see a writer in their natural habitat, doing daily activities, such as thinking about writing, and complaining about writing. there is no writing getting done, except when the writers have many other things to get done.

guys please comment on fics. the motivation is genuinely so awesome and i see the kudos go up but i wanna hear what you guys think about it :(
"I sort fics by kudos and only kudos on stories with high kudos counts, why aren't there more stories with high kudos, I ran out of things to read." You're part of the problem.
"Authors artificially inflate comment counts by thanking people, I can't find anything with a real comment count to read." No they fucking are not, they're grateful for engagement.
"I can't read anything under 100k." That's the majority of fics you're ignoring, most novels aren't even that long.
"I don't have time to look for the incredibly rare diamond in the rough, so I won't read anything below a certain amount of kudos, comments, and hits." Those fics are popular because people gave them a chance and then snobs like you found them.
"I won't read anthing with a single typos." You made typos in that sentence, get off your high horse.
"One singular author didn't thank me for commenting, I'm never commenting on any fic again so I don't get burned." You're punishing people because someone didn't give you engagement they don't owe you that they might not have seen.
"This fic is three months old, it's so old, it doesn't matter if I comment or kudos, it's old." Fics do not have expiration dates, comment and kudos.
You're killing your fandoms with your snobbish behaviors.

I just came across two "authors" that have written fics Im interested in.. and I rigured out they used ai for the whole thing
How should I deal with blogs like that? Do I report them? Block them? Should I do anything at all?
Because I commented on the first fic asking if its ai and they blocked me so I cant even protect anyone else from reading that because I forgot their name
And on the second fic I commented I asked the same thing and they suddenly deleted all of their post but they had a full ass masterlist
Is asking about ai an insult now? Cuz i dont want to blame this people out of the blue Im asking, but they are quicker to get offended then to defending "their" work..
Am I the crazy one??
can I be honest? you are in the wrong here. I stand with the two authors, and Iām glad they blocked you.
you said you āasked if their works are aiā which means the authors did not specifically say their works were ai-generated, meaning you guessed, based on vibes, and then you threw an accusation at them. I have already talked about why itās rude, entitled and insulting for someone to ask a writer if their works are ai-generated here, here and here.
and I have said time and time again that āai witch hunt, speculation and accusations harm the writing community as much as ai does, if not moreā.
so whether or not you know it, you are harming the writing community ā just like ai does, if not more ā by going around asking random writers if their works are ai, as if writers owe you anything (fun fact: they do NOT owe you anything).
every āai telltaleā is something human writers write. what do you think ai was trained on? what do you think it was trained to mimic?
āhow do I deal with this?ā by curating your own internet experience. block them if thatās what you want (you can block anybody for any reason). itās not your problem or your business how a writer writes, whether or not they use ai.
no, I am not a fan of ai, but I can accept that if someone chooses to let ai write everything for them, then that is their business. do I agree with them? no. will I harass them for it? no. will I call them out? no. what they do is literally none of my business.
also no, itās not your job or your business to āprotect anyone from reading their worksā. you are not their parent. if someone reads their works and if they think itās ai, then they can make their own decision on whether or not they will continue reading it.
if you think their works are ai, you can choose not to read them. you can block them if thatās what you want. but
1. writers do NOT owe you anything
2. yes, itās absolutely valid for a writer to NOT want to be asked if their works are ai ā them deleting their works after you asked them if their work is ai is NOT proof that they used ai. they could very well be devastated that something they worked so hard on was accused of being something itās not, and if thatās the case then you should be ashamed of yourself. (if they did use ai then thatās still their choice, their business and something they have the rights to do ā even though I donāt agree with them, I will never condone harassment.)
3. I have already seen enough writers step away from posting their human-made works online BECAUSE PEOPLE KEEP ASKING IF ITāS AI. and it can be very disheartening for them. (me personally I donāt care if someone asks me this, because I know I donāt let ai write for me and I never let strangersā negativity affect me, but I understand why some other writers care.)
3. no, you cannot know āfor sureā if a fic is ai-generated. unless the author says so themself, you can only guess based on vibes. as Iāve said before, every ai telltale is something human writers actually write, otherwise ai would never have been able to mimic it at all.
4. harassment will never ever make you the good guy.
also you cannot report them for being ai, let alone because you personally suspected that itās ai, because ai-generated works are allowed. itās allowed on ao3 (hereās what ao3 said about ai-generated works on their platform), and since tumblr as a site itself, just like every other social media platform, also promotes and uses ai to help them run the platform, I guess itās fair to assume they allow ai-generated contents on their platform too.
again, I am not a fan of ai fics, but I condemn harassment, ai witch hunt and speculations more.
respectfully, do better.
if anything, I believe you owe these two writers an apology.
As a society, we need to go back to understanding that strangers on the internet are, you know, strangers. I feel lately that I'm seeing a rise in 'An author I love blocked me because they took my comment the wrong way' posts on the ao3 subreddit, and then the comment is them calling the author a fucking bitch or something like that.
Don't do this. Tone doesn't translate well in text, and if you don't have a rapport with that author, they are not going to interpret, 'You're a fucking bitch' as, 'Author I hate you for being so talented and making me feel so keenly.' They're going to interpret it as you being an asshole. You can shit talk with your friends because you have an established relationship with them and can distinguish between playful banter and genuine anger. You do not have this with a stranger, no matter how much you like their fics. You will have a much more pleasant time in fandom and not get cockblocked from interacting with your favorite writers if you remember this.
i know i say this often but i cannot say it loud enough: people who comment on fics, people who reblog posts and engage with fanworks are the people who generate community and without them fandom would be nowhere, so truly thank you for your presence, you make the world go 'round <3

Chapter 9 of Just One of Those Days is out!
hi! whats ur opinion on readers complaining about writers writing style? like in the comments on tiktok hardly anyone ever disagrees with them.
tiktok is a hellhole so Iām not surprised itās full of entitled, immature people who think fanfic writers write to please them and the world revolves around them. I donāt want to waste my time thinking about these people and trying to have an opinion on them, except that theyāre annoying, childish and entitled
