Not to be all "the children have forgotten the sacred texts!" but I just saw someone refer to a ship between two people who are good friends in canon as a crackship.

Hon. No. Crackship doesn't just mean "not canon". It's difficult to imagine two people who spend significant canon time together as a crackship. Crackship is when you write Galactus getting fucked by Tony the Tiger.

#to me a crackship is characters you kind of laugh to yourself thinking about and yet there is Something about them #like you can’t fully take yourself seriously shipping them and yet you can’t stop #for me byeongjin was a crackship bc they almost never interacted in canon but also bc both are so intensely in love with other people #so it demanded some ooc reconfigurations of their characters to allow them to redirect that towards each other #but maui and moana is also a crackship to me simply because they are disney characters for children #so even though the text (to me) supports that reading and shows real chemistry it’s cracky on account of the genre #it can also be a crackship in some social contexts but not in others! ghoulcy is very uncontroversial here #(in the sense that everyone agrees that this is shippable even if some people dislike it)#but to people i talk to irl it would 100% be a crackship #because the thought wouldn’t even have crossed their minds and they would respond with laughter #it’s just got to have some absurdity to it. and that is of course subjective #my fic tag

Also the credit scene of ep 5 with the burning car at sunset is so gorgeous (and also kind of lol, he burned his beloved murder car like he burned her dogs? Sorry Choi that’s not equivalent)

I feel so crazy about the fact that he fed the dogs the nicest sirloin he could find, no doubt for some pre-fire euthanasia, and Se-ok probably thinks he BURNED THEM ALIVE and she STILL couldn’t make herself hurt him. She who kills on a whim. Insane

just absolutely obsessed with every time choi posits their sameness as something he is fully aware of, something profound, something that makes them kin. and then the minute seok is in front of him and she starts speaking and she is a real person—the person he wants—he is like You're Fucking Insane. god. peak writing! choi rejecting seok because of the steep costs of their connection: she reminds him of not just the parts of himself he loves—his genius, his ambition—but the parts he hates—his obsessiveness, his darkness, his capacity for desire. 'the enormity of my desire disgusts me' shit lmao.

he kicks her out, ruins her life, etc. because he can't handle the ambivalence. he can't handle his 'bad' with his 'good' and rather than confront himself, he'd rather reject her as 'bad'. god he probably felt so insane with the slap at the hospital—at least him trying to murder someone to keep her was a secret he could pretend he didn't have (until he shared it with her). but i mean who else could make him lose control like that in front of everyone? and in the middle of a surgery! supposedly cool self-evacuating ground, almost spiritual, made utterly beastly by what he feels for her!!!! and vice versa!!!!
