I love that moment in episode 9 where Caine reaches the internet connection, and it looks for a moment like he's going to move forward, but he hesitates, pulls back, stops on the threshold instead. It seems like he could have stepped out, uploaded himself into the internet and been *free* to explore the world wide web. But he just looks up their info and goes back. Because even after they deleted him, tried to kill him as far as he knows, his moral code is still "I won't abandon them". It's a fundamental part of who he chooses to be. If the humans could exit they would, and wouldn't have cared about leaving him behind, and he probably knows that. That was what Episode 7 had been all about, after all; their hesitation in episode 7 was about doubts, not concearn for his wellbeing. Yet when actually given the chance, he doesn't leave them. Even though he probably knows they wouldn't do the same for him. Kinda heartbreaking, and bittersweet.

Artwork for chapter 13 in my ZipperteethAU fanfic. Basically just Gangle and Caine sharing some bee drawings they made though, and Caine tries a chibi style (a chibee, if you will). Absolutely nothing bad could come of this whatsoever.

My sister gets mad when I abbreviate Major Crimes Unit to MCU because she confuses it with Marvel Cinematic Universe every time. To appease her, I will henceforth refer to it as "the McUni".

I wish I knew what really happened at ZA/UM. My instinct is to assume greedy frauds pushed out the creators they felt they no longer had a "justified" cost for, but some of the original ZA/UM group are still at the company too. I like to think they, including the primary writer of the communist route which I hear is still working there, would loyaly leave if it was really nothing more than greedy tactics.

My father played Disco Elysium for the first time today. He immediately ran away from his problems, cussing out and flipping off Garte and crashing into a woman in a wheelchair as he did so, ignored just about every question he could ask, told Kim he totally knows what he's doing and has his badge, then cried on the radio begging Precinct 41 to let him go home, tried and failed to punch a child, and when asked why he, knowing he's a police officer, would try to punch a child he responded "but he's a gangbanger child". Then he finally died to morale damage failing to identify some footprints.
