My husband has purchased more vintage TVs, this is a smaller version of the huge Sony Trinitron we already have. More vintage TVs mean more vintage horror movie nights 💛 also had no idea The Thing was based on the novella ‘Who Goes There’ by John W Campbell which I have immediately purchased 😂

Finished King Sorrow. The only reason I didn’t start this earlier was because massive hardbacks are awkward to read. So glad I didn’t wait for the paperback, such an epic story. Really gave IT/Stand vibes with the length, spans of time and the friendship of the characters, would love to see King Sorrow as a series.

Another SK movie night on the vintage TV.

I finished watching Mr Mercedes today (I’m always late to the party with King TV adaptations). Loved the first series so much and was on tenterhooks even though I knew what was going to happen but the second and third series dragged so badly. Such a strong start to just feeling ‘meh’ about it and having it on as background while doing other stuff. Maybe it’s because I’ve read Mr Mercedes more times than the rest of the series but I personally felt they could have told the stories in 8 episodes rather than 10.

OTHER WORLDS THAN THESE is the story of Jack Sawyer, whom readers first met when he was twelve, crossing America and 'the territories' to save his mother's life, and met again in Black House, where Jack faces a child killer and the Crimson King (among other evils). In OTHER WORLDS THAN THESE Jack must stop a rampaging gang of infected teenagers from America-side, and the forces of the mysterious Gullet at the edge of Mid-World, before it destroys our world and all worlds. Jack is older now; his Ka-tet is fraying; and his task, nearly impossible.

My second Philip Fracassi and what a pulp horror delight! Possessed furniture must be one of the most underrated pulp horror subjects of all time.

Got high and watched The Shining on hubbys vintage Trinitron TV, such a great film and gives me first dates vibes as one of our first dates was going to the cinema to see the full directors cut version.

I don’t post much of my cosy fantasy reading on this page but I just got a copy of the new Travis Baldree book and got a pleasant surprise.

Time for my annual read of The Shining because…what is not so great about The Shining? Nothing.
