The quickest descent into fascism occurs when the criminalization of innocent, nonviolent activities is combined with a surveillance state to “clean up crime”.

It’s also very important to look at how these laws are used.
For the laws criminalizing pot, white people (usually youth) often get off with a slap on the wrist, but BIPOC get harsh sentences, including prison time. Same goes for traffic offences (including DUI). Also laws for loitering, gangs and so on are used much more often against BIPOC - people are being denied their freedom of movement or just being allowed to be out in public without being afraid of being arrested.

AKA my Muse passion project. I had so much fun with this one because you all know how much Muse means to me. It's a good read, so go read it. It gives ya the feels, very angsty. It has a happy ending though because I'm not a monster.

HERE THEY ARE! My contribution to @sacred-algae 's fic "Hate This And I'll Love You" (oh would you look at that! It's linked below! Or is it? If it isn’t, it'll be soon!!) It's a bit late, but this years @dghdabigbang was/is a lot (but also SO much fun!!) and I'm so proud of what we came up with!!

Okay so my friend group discussed this idea for a while and we came up with a fun third hidden competition:
First, eurovision contestants get to search for fellow musicians from their countries to form a soccer team with (I will be using the term "soccer" because I want the Americans to understand this. I do prefer the term "football" personally but I'm not ready to explain this 3000 times).
These teams consisting of musicians play for points. Points can be earned by winning matches AND (now comes the fun part) half time shows!! During half time shows, the team's musician of choice has to perform. Musicians from both teams perform after one another and the viewers have to vote for their favorite! The winner of the public vote earns points.
TL;DR: UEFA 2020 but with musicians instead of professional soccer players and the addition of musical half time show battles with a public vote!!
