You are now in possession of one Mason Marchment 2026 edition:
Hello Sharks fans!! welcome to LOVING mason marchment here is ur onboarding information:
Mason is the son of Bryan Marchment who played 20 years in the NHL and then worked as a scout and part time coach for the Sharks until his death right before the draft in 2022. The sharks wore a helmet sticker of Bryan's number ( 27 ) during the 2022-2023 season.
Mason's nickname "Mush" was also used by his father. Mason wears 27 for Bryan.
Mason went undrafted and didn't play at the major junior level until he was 19. He played in the O until he aged out for various teams including McDavid's Erie Otters, and then joined the Toronto Marlies in the AHL.
He essentially had to take a year off at this point to re learn how to skate? He worked with a figure skating coach who was like heyyyy it's not supposed to hurt really bad when you skate and he was like um? this is news to me how can we fix this.
He's still not the best at skating but he's come a LONG way. His skating coach described him as an out of balance marionette.
The next year he won the Calder cup (the stanley cup of the AHL) with the marlies. (interesting note for Stars Fans is that the Marlies were facing Roope Hintz's Texas Stars in the final)
He got his big break in the NHL with the Florida Panthers and played there for two years before signing a four year deal with the Stars (only 6 days after the passing of his father). He was with the Stars for three years before being traded to the Kraken who did not cherish him and flipped him to the Blue Jackets.
He's allergic to clothes. That guy is always walking around without a shirt.
There's an old interview with Barkov where Barky says that Mason would always take his shirt off on the plane and never wore any shoes but slides/flip-flops when he was in Florida. I cannot find it to link here and that haunts meeee. if someone has that somewhere be my hero and send it to me!
He also has a prominent collar bone scar presumably related to one of the collar bone breaks he suffered in his early twenties
He has a contentious relationship with the Refs. He takes a lot of penalties and he draws a lot of penalties, and he's always under suspicion.
He and his wife Lexie had a son name Banks in September 2025! beyond happy for him and Lexie (they had previously been public about dealing with a pregnancy loss)
Mason and Ty Dellandrea are good friends and Ty was a groomsman in Mason's wedding.
They were both also very close with Jake Oettinger who for several seasons had them both on his mask.
Mason and Jake got tattoos together to commemorate dead loved ones (Mason's dad, Jake's mom)
When Jake and Mason played each other for the first time after Mason was traded Jake served as back up and Mush kept coming over to talk with him during TV timeouts 🥺 the stars had an off day in Seattle the next day so Jake got to meet the new baby.
this is how we represent him in emoji form: 🧿 🧿
