i love that im rarely on tumblr anymore yet i still occasionally get anon recommendations about gay tv shows. i appreciate it anon, i have already done and binged it! i was just talking about how we need more lesbian media with lesbian romance with its own plotline that doesn’t revolve around the characters coming out as gay. the success of lesbian/sapphic representation in media such as Clarke/Lexa came from a powerful romance that was integral to the plot but also had nothing to do with homophobia or coming out or the struggles of being gay, the characters lesbian romance is still integral to the plot while also being able to exist as their own characters with unique plot lines that have nothing to do with being gay. that’s exactly what gay people want, and we need more of it!

Ava and Beatrice have a beautiful romance that builds up slowly and keeps the audience in anticipation. that is something else that gay people have been begging for: a slow burn lesbian romance with a strong foundation, where the culmination of the relationship feels earned with a satisfying pay off.
