Baphomet did not begin as a horned deity. The name first appeared in accusations against the Knights Templar, likely as a corruption of “Mahomet,” used to label heresy. There was no clear figure only a charge.

The image known today was created later by Éliphas Lévi. It was never meant to be a literal being, but a constructed symbol.

Every part is intentional. The goat head represents instinct. The human body represents consciousness. The dual form reflects male and female combined. The torch between the horns represents illumination rising above base nature. The arms marked solve and coagula represent dissolution and reconstruction.

This is not a demon. It is a diagram.

Baphomet represents the union of opposites. Light and dark. Order and chaos. Creation and destruction. Not as separate forces, but as something that exists together.

That is why it is misunderstood.

Most systems depend on division good and evil, pure and impure. Baphomet removes that separation. It shows a state where contradiction is not resolved, but held.

In practice, this reflects a process. Breaking down identity, belief, and imposed structure, then rebuilding it. Solve et coagula.

This is not a soft concept. It requires confronting what has been separated within you.

Baphomet is not something you follow.

It is desirable, it is needed. It will be accepted, will be done willingly and gratefully
