bevause while i do love more "professional"/"polished"? """skilled"""?? dexes, being a fan of character/creature design and how people interpret the design philosophy of pokemon to emulate it in their own work accurately, i also sincerely love the ones that're like... God i wish words were easy. amateur is as close as i can think, stuff thats rough as young/new artists try to fit a design into a very small space while trying to keep it readable, and also not really being concerned with what a 'real pokemon' would look like, making these collections of bizarre sometimes messy or overly detailed creatures. but also back to that 'real pokemon' thing is that these ARE pokemon to them, why should they look or be designed a certain way? what establishes what a real pokemon looks like? the design style changes with practically every generation anyway.
