I have started calling it "monkey see monkey do misogyny" not because these little shits aren't a danger to other children but because I'm so sick of people reacting like "he's too young to truly MEAN it" and I don't care because I'm not worried about his immortal soul or whatever. I care about the girls who have to hear the exact same words in the exact same order as a grown man who hates them, in class. And then be expected to concentrate on long division.

these are different things btw. actual adaptability means not dealing with being miserable long term. and being constantly mildly annoyed/frustrated with a situation but being “able to deal with it” counts as ambient misery. btw.

let this be your sign to make your life just a little more livable. get a dollar store trash can for your bedside so Cup City’s invasion plans fall through. block a tag or post that makes you grind your teeth every time you see it. get some grip pads so your bed stops sliding across the hardwood a little bit every time you get in it. tell that person you need a little more support. if you get annoyed at a situation more than a couple times, change it. don’t be content with being miserable.

and the more that you start doing this, the better you will get at detecting your own feelings and advocating for yourself! This is an important start to being more of a person in the world if you struggle with that

im bad to argue with because i have jesters blood if you misintepret me i'll just go along with it. when i was a teenager i was trying to explain the concept of the heterosexual default to someone and they were like "so you think everyone should become bisexual?" and i was like. what the hell sure. lets have legally enforced bisexuality. i'll die on a hill for the bit dont fuck with me.

what the emo kids of today don’t realize is that in the 2000s real emos didn’t call themselves emo because calling yourself emo meant you were a poser. if someone saw you wearing a black studded belt and hot topic mcr wristbands and asked you were emo you were supposed to say “i don’t choose labels……..” and then they’d know you were a true emo

they won't tell you this in therapy but sometimes the best way to stop catastrophizing/anxiety is to interrupt your spiraling with "girl what the hell are you talking about"
