Can someone help me characterize the inflection in meaning that is being given by non-typographical-error, slightly morphologically/etymologically tinged mis/respellings? I feel like there is a similar, or at least analogous, connotation shared by the different examples. Possible cases:
creacher (vs. creature)
ingredience (vs. ingredients)
possibly: beaft (vs. beast, apparently influenced by long S, i. e. beaÅæt; may be straightforward archaic flavour but feels somehow akin to above cases
Seems slightly related to "webbed site" although that also feels related to the suggestion of out of touch unfamiliarity of Mr. Burns's "iced cream," even though that suggestion isn't really the connotation added by the use of "webbed site"

It feels like the respelling is "I'm describing the original noun but slightly to the left." It's like. A similar, but not exact, duplicate of what is described in the "correct" spelling with a dose of irony. Something similar, but not exact, for which there is no accurate synonym; therefore a respelling fills the linguistic gap. The actual connotation may depend on context?
A "creacher" is a creature that is a little indescribable, possibly cute. For example, the jerboa is a mouse but had wacky, unexpectedly long legs. Therefore it is a creacher.
Likewise, "webbed site" describes something that attempts to operate like a website but fails in providing the basic functionality. For example, tumblr's history of glitches and functions popping in and out of existence make it a webbed site.
I would also add "birb" to the list (vs. bird), and defining birbs and birds and borbs was actually a topic addressed by none other than the Audubon society. Similar to the above, where the respelling attempts to fill a gap of "similar but to the left," the Audubon society concluded that birbs are birds that are small, round, and/or cute.

Therefore, we can conclude that respellings fill a linguistic gap to describe something similar to (or in the same group as) the original word but for which there is no exact word, creating a synonym or subgroup for which there otherwise is no word.
