In my reflection drawing I mentioned wanting to change the reflection's arc, so here is my version!
Basically, we wanted to change her arc so she'll become her own person and develop her own unique identity :D
As the reflection starts to break more and more from constant overuse, it slowly gains her own consciousness. She starts to gain her own emotions and personality, and tries to figure out how to be her own person.
At the beginning, the reflection hates her new developments, as the emotions she slowly starts to feel are almost always negative. At the beginning, she doesn't truly knows the difference between good and evil, as she isn't experienced with emotions and so has a difficult time with empathy.
She resents Valkyrie because she can't copy her well anymore, which is the one perpuse she was made for. She doesn't fully understand her resentment because she doesn't understand her own feelings yet, but she knows that Valkyrie causes her a bad feeling and she wants it to disappear.
She thinks of murdering Valkyrie and replacing her. She doesn't have real morals yet, as she can't differentiate well between good and bad actions (she knows that murder is bad, but thinks that it won't be bad if she replaces Valkyrie, because there won't be any difference). She even gets a weapon, but ends up not going through with it.
As time passes and she breaks even farther, she feels a wider variety of emotions then before. Realizing that Valkyrie doesn't plan to stop using her, she tries her best to understand human norms and act by them. She hopes that if she maneges to fulfill the purpose she was made for again (copying Valkyrie), it might help her and fix everything. However, she doesn't do a good job anymore as she never actually felt anything while copying Valkyrie, and now her emotions get in the way and she is unable to copy her well. Valkyrie notices, but doesn't have a better option then keeping to use her, despite her malfunctioning.
As Valkyrie spends more and more time away from her home saving the world, the reflection is forced to live what Valkyrie's life should be. However, she feels stuck in a life that's not hers, trying to fulfill a perpuse she used to be able to, but can't anymore. As it all gets too much for her, she breaks the mirror in Valkyrie's room (the one that she usually was summoned through) and leaves.
Valkyrie finds her a couple of days. At first, it's hard for her to disobey Valkyrie's direct orders and live her own life, but as she slowly develops her own personality it becomes easier for her. She starts living her own life and making her own friends. She is not the same as Valkyrie anymore, but not her complete opposite either - she keeps some of Valkyrie's traits, but also develops many of her own.
She eventually even gains her own ability, learning how to go through mirrors and different reflective surfaces.
With a new name and personality, she decides to live her own life
She comes up with her own name: Miria Echo Abel
Miria is based on the names Mia and Maria - both meaning "mine" (Miria also sounds a bit like mirror, which I liked)
Echo is based on the nymph echo from Greek mythology
Abel is a jab at Valkyrie (because Cain killed Abel, and she was killed instead of her in the second book, which is one of the things that started this whole mess).
As for her personality, she is a lot more bubbly and open minded, as she is willing to try almost anything before forming her own opinion. From her various attempts to understand her emotions, she learns to be very empathetic and optimistic, choosing to find the bright side in every situation :)
A few fun facts about her!
✧ She has a rock collection, and grew very attached to it. She gave every rock it's own name and can differentiating between each one easily.
✧ As she is still a result of a spell breaking, there are small things about her that will never function correctly. For example, she can sometimes be VERY easy to gaslight.
✧ She learnt how to do makeup in order to look different from Valkyrie, and is now pretty good at it and genuinely likes it.
✧ She dyed the tips of her hair brunette (she still dyes streaks of her hair in random colors from time to time, but with temporary dye, it comes off after washing it).
✧ She likes wearing colorful outfits and dresses, as opposed to Valkyrie (she does like leather jackets, but doesn't wear them because she doesn't want to look similar to Valkyrie). Finding clothes she actually liked was a part of her ways to find her own personality, as she tried many random clothing styles before figuring out what she likes.
✧ She still loves her parents and adores her sister, but feels conflicted about it, as her parents never truly got to know her. She still visits Alice from time to time, as she thinks of her as her own sister (she spent a lot of time with her while Valkyrie wasn't home, and grew attached). She believes Alice is more her sister then Valkyrie's, because she spent a lot more time with her and watched her grow up while Valkyrie was busy saving the world.
✧ What'll happen with her next? Find out in me and my sister's crossover fanfic :D ✧
