“Nobody knows how to scare us like us...” 😳😳😄 Many years ago, I picked up “The Shining” by Stephen King for a read. That book scared THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS out of me!! 😂 So much so that I read it cover to cover over 16 hours! Lol!! I was too afraid to put it down. A few years later I went to see the movie adaptation of the book and remember leaving the theater thinking “I wish I’d seen that BEFORE I read the book! That was MUCH LESS SCARY than what I’d come up with, cowering on my bed too scared to go to the bathroom for hours on end!” 😂 Nobody knows how to scare us like us. But just like the danger to the characters in the movie isn’t real (we do recognize that even while we’re watching and being “scared” by the terrible events unfolding), the danger to ourselves - as we navigate the great unknown - IS NOT REAL. It’s made up in our minds...tailor made...custom made from all the ingredients that we know ourselves scare us to death. Our dark imaginations weave tales of a disastrous outcome on the other side of “the unknown” but the danger isn’t real. Nobody is going to chop you up with a hatchet if you step out there and start that business 🏦 or write those songs 🎼 or go for that degree 🎓 or ask that guy/girl out 💘 etc., but that’s ultimately what we’re afraid of...dying. Subconsciously we equate ✨failure with death✨ and because most of us are afraid of death, we are likewise ‘deathly’ afraid of failure. The degree to which we fear death, I hazard to say, corresponds to the degree that we fear failure and it is to THAT degree that we avoid the POSSIBILITY OF FAILURE. But to avoid the possibility of failure you must also, simultaneously, avoid the possibility of success because to fail means that you had to have TRIED something 🌟and you must try if you’re going to succeed 🌟 There’s the conundrum...🤔 “Failure” is only failure because we’ve called it that. What if we used another phrase like 🌾life lesson🌾or “character developing”💪🏽 or “something that I didn’t know about myself/people/the world/God that I now do”? 😇 What if we chose to look at our past “failures” under a different light? A light of love and grace and forgiveness? Forgiveness of others as well as for ourselves for all the times we know we’ve let ourselves down....❣What if none of that matters and you have a BRAND NEW CHANCE to start fresh today? 😃 What if you put your mind and heart and passion and #love and sweat and blood and tears into something you love - backed by the new, enlightened #FORGIVING love you give to yourself - for yourself....a reflection of your Father’s love...a mirror of the love your Creator has for you...so much...sooo much‼️ More than enough to empower you to greatness!! It’s time to #SUCCEED which means it’s time to TRY!! Whatever your ‘thing’ is, Get Up! Get moving! Shake yourself and come awake!
