I'm thinking only a person with low enough sanity and way too high determination (or, inability of letting go) like Satomi could be expected to go Anywhere at all with a hollow man like Kyouji. As if Satomi's insanity complements Kyouji's inner nihilism perfectly. In a way Satomi's obsessive passion is exactly what is needed by Kyouji to fulfill the nihilistic void within himself, to become a real human being. And it takes a person like Kyouji to bring out that hidden passion and buried insanity within Satomi.
These two are truly a crazy pair. The analogy I'm thinking is that they are on a road trip and their car is off the main road but the two of them just keep pushing the accelerator on and on until the car falls down a cliff.
Me being a control freak and projecting that onto my Satomi especially his anxiety over Kyouji. Aged Kyouji just let him because Kyouji is a man who needs to be kept on a leash, to know any purpose in life, first Kumicho and then Satomi. But Satomi is different because it is a love that is so bright and pure. And then post-established relationship Kyouji takes Satomi into his arms and reassures him I am not going anywhere. Satomi is like I'm not letting you going any. You have belonged to me since a long time ago and I know it. Kyouji just looks at him with a look that is so gentle.
