“I think you always have a choice, Oli,” Georgie said with a sad smile. She had never wanted him to have to do what his family wanted him to do and she’d always told him that. She always wanted Oliver to have his own choice in life, but she hadn’t been able to see if he was doing that when she was away. “I just want you to do what makes you happy. That’s all I’ve ever wanted,” she said with a bigger smile this time.

He nodded his head, completely agreeing with her statement. Only if that’s so easy... He thought to himself before looking up to the brunette again. That always made him feel like he’s in a lighter mood. "I could say the same thing to you. -- It’s time for your story! So, how’s life in college and what made you open your eyes that culinary is the best thing for you?”

Georgie’s mouth gaped in fake horror and she reached out to push Oliver’s shoulder. “My flirting skills are next level,” she giggled. She pulled her chair closer to his and sat back down. She leaned in on her hands, resting her elbows on the counter and watched him closely as he spoke about his life. She wished she could’ve been there to experience everything with him and help him through anything he may have needed, but she didn’t say that. She was sure he already knew how guilty she felt for leaving. “Do you want to inherit the family business, though? It might keep you busy but will it keep you happy?” she asked, looking down at her hands and then back up at him.

Oliver noticed the sudden change in her tone and facial expression. There’s no reason for any of them to be sad, since all the things are already done and nothing could make it the way they want it to be. He had his hand on her shoulder, then a sly smile on his face as their gazes met again. “I don’t have much of a choice on that one.” He admitted, still smiling at the girl. “Aw, c’mon! Why frown? You’re much more beautiful when you’re smilin’.”

Olive smiled. “I understand that happens to me all the time.” She said and looked over at him with a smile. “I was ready to move anyway so I’ll just get up.”

“ i usually do have good choices. oh i’m definitely not going to get that much, probably some vodka and chips or something.”

“Right here.” She smiled as the dog walked over to them, picking him up. “This is Toulouse.”

Oliver watched her pick up the dog, who seemed to be a little bit energetic. He gives him a back ear rub, which is enjoyed by Toulouse. “Where did you get his name? I’ve never heard of that before.”

“Broken relationships can never be mended.” He muttered, a stern look slowly appearing on his face. “Well, lack of trust and stupid assumptions immediately breaks a relationship.”

“I do, and it doesn’t.”

“Who doesn’t love playing pranks? They’re amusing as hell; but they’re no fun if it’s done to you.”

Oliver smiled at the question. “Well, it’s my grandfather’s name. I was named by my grandmother. She keeps on bugging mom until she said yes to name me after my granpa, Oliver. My second name, Jace, is said to mean as the good guy.” He chuckled. “Nope, I never had it changed. I always liked my name.”

“I do, but there’s this something that stops me from getting too close to whoever that breaks my trust. – But, I am comfortable with cutting all ties and bonds with people.”

“You know what. I should have. And then I could have burned it afterwards. Damn, why didn’t I think of that?” ve chuckled, looking at the male.

“or you could throw dart arrows at it while it’s burning. -- That’s somehow relieving.” He suggested with a smirk on his face.

They begin the walk over. “Must get fired pretty quickly though.”

Oliver inserted his hands on the back pockets of his jeans, then looked at his friend beside him. “Well, he sucked at it and there’s no point of keeping him around.”
