today we’re eurovision stans first, humans second
HOW DID WE NOT NOTICE THIS
The UK doesn’t have to go through the semi-finals, you know? So I really think we should take that power and run with it. Go full Eurovision. Stop sending these actual attempts at success, which clearly do NOT work and send something absolutely ridiculous and very homoerotic.
Do a Dustin the Turkey, but with the power to drop it straight into the final.
Send a man dressed in a lycra bodysuit to ride through a fire on a segway.
Send a troupe of singing morris dancers.
Send the entire clientele of a gay bar and get them pissed before they go on stage.
Send a lookalike of the Queen and make her sing the sluttiest song you can think of.
Send literally any of the people who immediately get laughed off of the XFactor.
Send at least three drag queens.
Send a minvan full of lesbians who only sing songs about the women they miss.
Literally, send ANYTHING, but make it mad, and bizarre, and gay. Make it EUROVISION.
I swear if Gal Gadot doesn’t host Eurovision next year I’ll be very disappointed

Salvador: music is not fireworks
Eurovision 2018: YOU STUPID BOY!!!!
I love how eurovision slogans are always about love, peace and unity but in reality there are millions of people all over Europe just shouting angrily at their TV and declaring war against nations that gave them 0 points ahhhh
fair warning to all non-Europeans
it’s Eurovision song contest next week and ya girl will not be holding back!!!! prepare for three nights of gay and glitter and a lot of screaming and know that you will be cursed by Russian grandmas if you unfollow a European during esc 👀 but don’t worry, I’ll tag everything with #esc18. I love you all ❤
This is how Tiffany Haddish ended her standup special. I’ve never been so happy to be cursed.
glass orbs
rbing this cause it took like 500 years
I would’ve just assumed it was a picture and scrolled past but luckily I LOVE MARBLES so I stopped and oh my god this is incredible. I want to hang this on my wall. Woah.

Report: 95% Of Grandfathers Got Job By Walking Right Up And Just Asking
Fun story my history teacher told us: his grandfather during the industrial revolution walked past a flyer which said “looking for smart strong boys” so he went into the factory, said “i’m strong and smart”, and he had that job from age 13 to 78
and this is why they expect the younger generation to simply “get a job” ahh it’s so much clearer now
#basically everyone aged Baby Boomer and up #still can’t wrap their heads around the fact that there’s no such thing as ‘just walking in’ anymore #like the majority of jobs you’d actually want require online applications and you’re lucky to get a rejection email (via halffizzbin)
Here’s another fun story: My boss decided to slap my work phone number on all the ads we post looking for newspaper carriers. So I receive a bunch of calls from people looking for jobs. Working only part time, I’m not usually there when they call, so they have to leave a message and I take their info to pass on to my boss. Sometimes it can be weeks before my boss calls any of these applicants back, if at all. How the callers respond to not getting a callback varies. Most don’t do anything, but some call again. If the person sounds young, they may leave another message clarifying their qualifications and reaffirming their interest. If the person is old, and I can always hear it in their voice, they respond by getting mad, threatening to cancel their newspaper subscription, and occasionally swearing. The older generation is used to getting a callback, and an immediate one, so they throw a tantrum when they don’t get what they want.
And everyone calls Millennials entitled.
Mind. Blown.
This is great info, but the way the headline is phrased made it sound like they got the job of being a grandfather by walking right up and just asking
I KNOW RIGHT

Stop-Motion Moana
“We can rebuild her… We have the technology… We know the way!”
A few months ago I ripped apart a Moana doll and made it into a stop-motion puppet using a kinetic armature kit.
The walk cycle above was the first thing I animated with this puppet, and was just a throw-away practice test with no green screen. I had never done a walk cycle in stop-motion before and soon discovered how difficult animating a straight-ahead cycle within a localized space with no retakes could be.
I showed the cycle to my dad while he was holding my Moana puppet in his hand and he seemed more impressed with this crappy test than the actual animation I did on the movie! I think the combination of him holding the puppet, and then seeing it come to life on the video before him was what blew him away. I guess that’s the appeal and magic of stop-motion. :)
Here’s a second test I animated for fun:
I read that it’s best to have the foot joints nice and tight to hold the weight of the puppet, and have the arms looser. It’s amazing how much weight those toe and foot ball-joints could hold for the falling poses:

me, finally replying to a text message from 4 months ago:
Why do they even put sex scenes in movies anymore? Like, does anyone feel anything but vaguely uncomfortable watching them? They’re not explicit enough to titillate most people in the age of instantly-available internet pornography, and just serve to make awkward silences when trying to watch movies with friends and family. It’s seldom that plot-relevant things occur or are said during them - why not just cut to black? Why do we have to suffer through several minutes of awkward moaning and close-ups of naked shoulders and necks?
