Haiku 3 of 3: Brain Storm I wasn't gonna post this today. But my mood fitted the bill. I'm not feeling particularly great. In fact, I feel quite depressed this evening. I feel tired, I feel stressed and I feel emotionally vulnerable. But I know it's okay to be like this. Doesn't mean it's not difficult but it's a bummer when it happens. I've spent a lot of time trying to make thing normal. Which is what a lot of people are trying to do and that talk about men's #MentalHealth. This is what Im trying to do more of through poetry. This is why I want to become a psychologist. To understand more of what goes on inside our brains, what can I do to help prevent myself and some I care about, or even someone you know getting to a point there is no coming back from. Unfortunately, its a reoccurring thing. So this Haiku is to represent kind of what it's like and what having depression is like. That no matter how sunny it is, inside is the greatest battle you will ever fight. Remember that you aren't and there are so many things you can do to help yourself and others. FYI I'm fine, I'm having one of my moments. It will past. Concept Chronicles 5: Heart Beat One of my favourite, well written, best delivered, metaphorical, fun and eye opening songs at the time. In the Oct/Nov 2012, me and @naylor_25 recorded Heart beat and was one the many experiences I had. During the times after we done KiiD Supa/K.w.D we tried our own thing and it went pretty well to be fair. Matt got in touch with a producer and he gave us a beat and from there we got writing. We spent quite a while developing the lyrics and it took the most takes we had ever done. But we got it done. Matt was even did all the animation and designs for us on a laptop that barely ran in a shared room with his brother and barely any room to sit and do stuff 😅. This was the first full 16 i had ever committed to memory. Even now I'm so proud of it ❤️ I wish I could remember more details from back then. But after this track, is what lead us on to other collabs and got me wanting to chase a career out of it. 8 Damn years ago! 8 years since I recorded my first E. P: Let Me Live A Little, as Concept 😅. What a name I was. Back in 2012. My old producer had a studio not to far from where I live now. He lived there with his son and girlfriend at the time. Really crowded place in a shared house. A lot of the time I spent there was watching other people record and me trying to fumble together my lyrics. I never did well with other people watching. At a point Fraser wanted to produce something that might make both of us some money. To his credit he never really charged me anything for the E.P, but he was really controlling of what I was doing. Telling me how to rap, what I should write and what I should say. When a lot of the people I was listening to at the time were just doing it for the fun. And that's what I wanted to do, be happy and have fun. And in fairness I did have fun. I did get to record some of the songs I wanted. Such as the title song: Let Me Live A Little Featuring Witness (Kris Naylor) and Bethany Luther. One day I will release the full thing. Until then I just wanted to post this out. As I was looking for something to write for the Chronicles. I said to myself when I started this page and writing content, that I'd not post myself on the main feed, unless I felt the need. Well... This time felt like one of those times. 1) I wanted to show my writing space, that I haven't really made use of. 2) I wanted to show my face. 3) As I write this I feel the need to woffle on and say a bit more 😅. Right now I'm between working as a T. A in a special needs school. To which people who know me or work with me or have experienced that sector, know its draining. I'm trying to finish my Diploma in Psychology to go on to work as a councilor. I'm trying to stay up-to-date with posting and writing, looking at how to beat the algorithms, how to make a success of something I love. I'm putting together my work for my first anthology. I'm putting together podcasts, get the necessities to record properly and make music and other audio projects. Chase the previously mentioned Psychology dream and also be an author and content creator. The stress of being self employed and doing everything right. I know it's all step by step. And I'm doing it all step by step, boundary by boundary.
