I like to headcannon that because Jinu is from 400 years ago and probably didn't have any education, he doesn't know about, like, certain types of animals, or common knowledge science facts. I don't know what the average person would know about back then but Jinu probably knows even less cause he was mostly just focusing on surviving so he just. Doesn't know things.
Jinu is also a Korean from 400 years ago. There's no way he has any solid grasp on anything from the Americas.

babe, most fanfic writers write because
they love the characters
they are not normal about the characters
they are passionate about the characters
they are depressed and writing about the characters is their getaway
they are horny
canon compliance is only a choice. but there’s no rule in fanfics. and most fanfic writers are sure as shit not trying to be respectful to the multi billion companies that made the characters, and if you actually believe they are, then maybe you’re just new to fandoms.
If i’m going to ignore canon entirely and make up new lore because i like it, there are tags for it. Don’t be a dickhead and comment the obvious about non-canon because it can and will give the authors Bad Writing Feelings and they will go on hiatus. (Yeah i can delete rude comments but if i TAGGED IT NON CANON, ONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO COMPREHEND THAT)
Also the multi billion companies don't give a shit about canon either and regularly bastardize our favorite little guys. But unlike the corporate sponsored mischaracterization, fanfic writers do it for the love of the game. How can you get mad at a sports game being played wrong if the players are just a bunch of drunk college students having some casual fun after finals week?

Anyway my mom impersonated me to a doctor so she could demand tests instead of letting me experiment with something that could legitimately just hurt me more.
There is only one bad thing about KPop Demon Hunters: because I'm an American, I can't fully appreciate and understand the unapologetically Korean cultural influences and mythological references.
It's not necessary knowledge tho. Because kpdh is an incredibly well made film, it can be enjoyed and analyzed without the added context but UGH my first watch of the movie would've been enhanced if only I was a Korean history nerd!! I also missed the height of K-pop in the states so that also didn't help. But hey, while yall were making armies I was getting to know the man I'd marry. BOOM shoehorned in my engagement again!! Hehehe.

I watched K-Pop Demon Hunters and Mira is my favorite. It was truly meant to be. Why do I say that? Because Mira's Saja Boys counterparts are Romance and Abby and yeah I'd say two of my fiancé's biggest traits are being romantic and abs. His signature style is even Hawaiian shirts like Abby!
Bobby is best boy tho. I would die for him. 10/10 no notes, literally perfect.
My fiancé got a tooth knocked out due to some tomfoolery.
Before he gets it fixed, I obviously had to paint one of my own teeth so it looked like it was also knocked out. That way we could have a picture where we matched. Because that was the most obvious course of action. Obviously.
Why would I try to make art that's universally well-received when I can make art that's deranged and bespoke? The world is already full of art that wasn't made for me.
This is why it's so wonderful to live in a world full of artists and writers! A single person can't satisfy everyone, which is why it's so important for everyone who has the desire to create to create their things! No matter how much art exists in the world, there is always a void that needs to be filled- and that void is shaped exactly like you 🩷🩷🩷

As the Artist Friend™, I keep making stuff for my friends, and they always catch me off guard when I show them the finished thing and they go "cool, how do you want me to credit you?" And I just bluescreen like "oh shit, right, credit, artists get credited for their work instead of pulling a Batman."
This has happened 5 separate times and WILL happen again in the future.
