Summary:

It was a joy to work with you on this and to enable each other! 💕 We struggled a bit but we did wonderfully!

Adding one special thing here regarding Beloved's clothes. In my headcanon for Mercenia I use Romanian motifs and this time I used them on the cape: the rows of pointed triangles are called wolf fangs and they symbolize protection against all evil, something I thought that fit Fitz and Nighteyes in Beloved's life. The second symbol represented by geometrical stars, they symbolize the guiding star and I also gave that to Beloved's mother attire for the recent Beloved animatic!

My @springfest-rote contribution this year is the far sunnier but no less angsty and yearning sequel to this winter's Winterfest piece, To Come In From The Cold, which, in the hallowed tradition of its predecessors, got way the fuck out of control and became a massive undertaking that I finished *checks watch* five minutes ago. It was a delight to write, and such fun to work with @maddyhope-art to fulfill the prompt that inspired it in the first place :) Please enjoy, and may your Springfest be bright and full of flowers! 🌸🌸🌸🌸

"I know not who I am any longer," I told him, thankful I had donned no cosmetics as I cried into his fern-colored jerkin. At least the only marks I would leave on it would be tearstains. "Each time I think I've figured it out, it slips away from me again. I am lost, Fitz. I don't know who I am, without prophecies to guide me and fate to make me bold."

"You are Beloved," Fitz replied simply, his lips in my hair. "You are mine. For now, let that be enough. You are Beloved, and you belong to me."

Old wounds still ache, even beneath the tender bulwark of newly rediscovered loved. It takes a familiar hand to tend them.

Happy @springfest-rote everybody! @zeepia-tu and I have been hard at work creating a wistful, sexy, bloody fic. To do so, we maybe kinda sorta put a whole bunch of AUs together to make a surprisingly soft and heartwarming fic.

What's it about, you ask?

Mafia!Fitz makes it out of an attack from a rival gang with his life... barely. The beautiful cafe owner and artist, who he's been yearning after for almost a decade, rescues him before he bleeds out.

Amber takes him back to her apartment, though she suspects it's a bad idea. But why would it be a bad idea? Well, Vampire!Amber has decades of experience under her belt, and she knows better than to get too close to someone she's longed for so desperately. She knows it's a sure way to getting her heart broken.

But Amber just can't help herself.
