scratch amazing digital circus as a squeezable marketable abstractable? plush!! āØā¤ļøāš©¹
do not taste plants if you don't know what they are
do not identify a fruit as edible just because it tastes sweet
hope you didn't eat any fucking seeds, bro
And today, we have this winner:
I saw the photo in my feed and went ohh, dude, no, we do not handle yellow rocks with our bare hands until we know for sure what they are. And I know that orange...
In comments, they continue:
and that's where I started cussing at the computer monitor. But someone else had got there first:
So just as a reminder, folks. If you don't know what it is, don't put it in your fucking mouth!
YOU GODDAMN STUPID MOTHERFUCKER
Good fucking god, people, if you don't know what it is, DON'T PUT IT IN YOUR STUPID MOUTH.
Oh my god. Good lord. I learned that when I was TINY. I was the tiniest, dumbest baby child and I knew better than to do this. What is wrong with you.
At Halloween last year, the tiniest little girl dressed as one of the Folk came to my door. There's an increasingly magnificent native beautyberry to one side of my stoop, with its marvelous electric purple berries served up in great tumbles, and she was transfixed by it. She got her candy, I complimented her costume, she started down the stairs, and then stopped, and turned back around. Her: "Are those for-eating berries?" Me: "Oh, you are so smart and clever for asking first! That is such a good idea, I'm so impressed! These are Callicarpa, called beautyberry, and they are edible. Usually they are for cooking, though, to make syrup or jam, and they're not very nice right off the bush. But they are a food berry, and you're so smart to ask!" Her: "Can I...try one?" Me: "If your mother says you may." Her mother, from the walk: "Are you SURE, like, 100% sure. That those are food." Me: "A hundred percent sure, ma'am. I could show you a couple of websites on them, if you want." The Girl: *waits for her mother's nod, then gently reaches out and takes three very small berries and puts them into her mouth* The Girl: *makes an inquisitive face as she chews, walking down the path toward her mother* Me, turning back inside: "Husband, you should have seen this very smart little girl just now!"
me going to tumblr to see all the episode 9 art then realizing that tumblr is being to lame, cool, and a good community to give spoilers so I have to wait

Jax isn't a bad character you just can't tell the difference between a real person and a drawing meant to tell a story.
Jax isn't a bad character you're just unable to understand plot devices from people.
Being a good character has nothing to do with morality. There doesn't have to be satisfying reasons for their actions, there doesn't have to be redemption arcs, there doesn't have to be excuses for dastardly deeds. None of that makes a good character, because characters aren't people and morality isn't the point.
Jax is amazingly written, and encapsulates so much in such a wonderful way, but since He'S aN aSsHoLe WhO dOeS bAd ThInGs everyone just immediately hates everything about him. This beautiful story is completely overlooked, or worse, overwritten by people who don't like the fact that the antagonistic character is antagonistic.
Your blorbos are not people, they are dolls being used to tell a story. Those dolls have other meanings and uses, it has nothing to do with right or wrong.
This show is not for kids so stop acting like preschoolers and use your cognitive thinking skills
100% spoiler free. All I have to say is HOLY FUCKING SHIT?!!!?!?!

The last tadc reblog before I make a block list for the movie premiere. It feels like quiet before the storm.
wonder what they're gonna go watch
First of all, NO movie spoilers in the comments ā even if I already saw it, I will be deleting spoiler comments until the final ep is out on YouTube!
Anyways, I made this piece to celebrate the finale of this amazing series that has done irreversible damage in my head, and nothing makes me happier than enjoying the journey until the very end (please don't let it flop, lineart took forever š)

Some art of the gang ahead of the finale dropping in theaters tomorrow. I can't believe this is the last time we are all waiting for a new episode together, I feel quite sentimental. What a ride it's been. If you're seeing it tomorrow, godspeed. And remember, be good to yourself and be good to others <3

last year i started taking little walks around my neighborhood for enrichment and whatnot, see, and iāve been more or less keeping up with them barring those 3 months i couldnāt walk. and thereās some pretty big hills around, so thereās some stairs on this route i like to take. and even though i know stairs are a bit of a workout, deep down it was a little embarrassing to me at first, realizing iād let my cardio fitness slip so badly that i needed multiple breaks to catch my breath on a single staircase. it got better as i kept at it, of course, but i would still internally wince a little at the fact that iād get so winded on those stupid stairs. theyāre just some rickety old hillside stairs by my house, i thought, they shouldnāt take it out of me THIS badly
it was only within the past few months that i got to a point where i was like okay, this is reasonable. theyāre not EASY, but if i pace myself i can take the stairs all at once without gasping for air. thatās not too bad. thereās room for improvement and i still get a little winded but thatās a reasonable amount of tired to be, i reckoned, itās one staircase but itās kind of a long staircase. iād always known it was kinda long.
except i recently found out i was underselling it a bit, there. turns out itās a VERY long staircase. itās āappears in tour guides and news articlesā long, actually. itās āannual citywide step challenge eventā long. itās āi canāt tell you the number of steps without doxxing myselfā long. and for almost a year i had no idea, because itās nearby and not very fancy looking and i thought it was just Some Stairs and i was really badly out of shape. but no, iāve accidentally been doing insane superhell cardio this whole time. iām pretty sure iām currently in better shape than i was running cross country in high school. the big hill by my parentsā house feels like flat ground to me now.
i donāt even know where iām going with this. i guess the point is sometimes you are not uniquely ill-equipped for a thing, sometimes that thing is actually just really difficult. and sometimes you donāt realize this and end up holding yourself to insane standards for no reason. but also this can end up benefiting you in the end? idk. maybe i should participate in that step challenge this year or something
There's some guitar riff that is very fast and my brother thought he'd never be able to match it because the original guitarist is a virtuoso and my brother is just some guy
He was warming up for band practice one day and played it and the singer was very impressed and was like 'oh you're doing a speed challenge of that song' and my brother said no, he's trying to match the original speed but it's impossible because the original is too fast. They relistened to the song and it was slower than how my brother played it
Takeru Kobayashi, the man who revolutionized competitive food eating contests, deliberately never looked up the world record while training for his first big hot dog eating contest in 2001
In 2000 the record was 25.5 in 12 minutes. In 2001, Kobayashi ate 50 hot dogs, almost doubling the record. The judges ran out of pre-made signs to track how many he had eaten and had to start making handwritten signs on the spot
There's a lot of positives with SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant/Realistic, Timely), (i really recommend it for things with work/school or things that have a natural deadline that isn't set by you) but the flip side of that is Godhart's law: when a measurement becomes a target, it ceases to be a good measurement. If OP or my brother or Kobayashi had specific goals and checked their progress against it, it would have inhibited their ability to achieve what they ended up achieving
My full thoughts on the main plot twist of episode 9:
it was a very bold move to reveal that Cain was actually just an alternate aspect of Jax that he was using to torture himself, because he was actually a genius programmer who killed his younger sister by accident and was using the circus to punish himself in a way he felt he deserved.
I'm not sure how I feel about Pomni pretending to be a digitally resurrected copy of his sister in order to get close enough to kill him, but overall the scene was very well done and looking back on the series there were a lot of clues, and it wrapped up Cain's/Jax's character arcs very well.
Overall it was a very good way to wrap up the series but definitely not the way I expected it to.
