This magnificent poppy flower grew on the side of a crop just behind my home in central Germany. I discovered it when I stepped outside the backyard to enjoy the view in May 2010.

Just behind my home in Germany, outside the backyard garden door, is a crop and during the beautiful summer a single poppy flower grew on the edge of it. I think that this photo perfectly captures the dry and hot summer that year.
