I can’t remember where I saw it, but I saw someone bring up the idea that Robert and Coupé are both two variants of child soldiers, and I think we should talk about that more.
Particularly in the realm of both of them recognizing traits they share, but Robert refusing to acknowledge that he was mistreated as a child in any way. He knows his childhood wasn’t normal by any stretch of the imagination, but admitting that the way his dad raised him was wrong will lead to a whole lot of other issues he’s not keen on processing.
Still, even without fully acknowledging it Robert is a lot better at speaking with and understanding Coupé than anyone really expected him to be, which leads to a lot of noticing something is up with Robert. The way Coupé treats Robert would change too I think, especially once she starts to respect him more. Things like purposefully making noise when she enters a room, or staying within his line of sight when they’re in the same room.
A lot of dots are connected and Z team does *not* like the conclusions they’re drawing, not at all.
