Caffine, Chaos, and Poor life choices

As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms 

As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.

Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.

Google is so powerful that it “hides” other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.

www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.

www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.

https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.

www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.

http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.

www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.

www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.

- zuko and sokka best friends since high school now in their mid twenties (and yes it’s been mutual pining the entire painfully long time)

- one day while bored sokka decides to make a tinder and it’s just a joke…but he’s definitely not telling zuko about it…

- after about a week of using the app tho sokka swipes onto a profile that makes him drop his phone

- it’s jet

- JK it’s zuko and sokka is definitely not shaking when he picks his phone up off the ground wtf are you talking about

- after staring at zukos selfie sokka starts looking through his photos and they are literally all with or taken by sokka which doesn’t make him smile …

- now sokka knows there are two things he can do right now…swipe left…or swipe right and make fun of zuko for being on tinder lmao what idiot uses tinder

- he knows zuko is in his room right now (ohmygod they were roommates…) if they match he can go laugh in his idiot best friends face

- never one to miss a chance to make fun of zuko he swipes right

- it’s a match!

- now pause a moment bc we all know zuko is mr takes everything very seriously so let’s think about what could happen here. he could be annoyed at sokka for actually swiping right bc this was HIS joke. or…

- Message from Zuko: ohmygod wow sokka i had no idea you felt the same way ive been wanting to tell you for so long are you home right now

- queue sokka FREAKING OUT

- HOW DID HE END UP HERE…

- and now queue zuko knocking on sokkas door

- and stunned sokka (he looks like this —>😳) opening the door

- zuko holds up his phone with his unanswered message on the screen “can we talk about this”

- flustered and on the spot, sokka blurts out that he did no such thing, it wasn’t him, and he would never have a tinder

- obviously zuko is disappointed but he blows it off like “oh okay so some stranger stealing your identity got my… er… joke”

- “…WAIT SOMEONE IS STEALING YOUR IDENTITY”

- again, freaking out, sokka just goes along with it because the other option is to admit his feelings and like who tf does that right

- queue zuko recruiting sokka’s detective skills on a quest to find out who was stealing sokka’s pictures and information to go on tinder

- the whole time sokka is just too embarrassed and smitten and he wants to tell the truth but he can’t tell if zuko really likes him or not

-So now Katara is staring at the two like the dumbasses they are before reluctantly agreeing to help, this is only after seeing the basically pleading look she was getting from Sokka.

-“why didn’t you tell him you like him??” Katara basically interrogates Sokka as soon as they’re alone.

-“I PANICKED.”

-Aang is a bit confused because he really thought that Katara helped Sokka make a tinder but now he’s not so sure.

- that became a task Sokka has taken on to keep Aang from saying anything, because he knew better than anyone that Aang has trouble keeping secrets.

-“didn’t Katara tell you to use that-“

-“Aang Momo is in the trash”

-Finally after nearly a week of this Katara is over it. And ends up ratting Sokka out, of course this is after Zuko interrogates Jet, who even though was Katara ex has absolutely no reason to fake Sokka identity. He chilling.

-which leaves the pair basically staring at each other with confusion emitting from Zuko and embarrassment from Sokka.

- “why did you tell me you didn’t make a tinder??”
