Is there a darker form of maladaptive daydreaming? For instance, your mind is always coming up with bad/embarrassing scenarios that aren't even real?

I’m sure there is, sad to know it’s not acknowledged. I rarely have daydreams like that because I’m too focused on escaping by daydreaming about something positive, but I do think that someone could constantly daydream about the embarrassing scenarios if they’re trying to save themselves in a way by immediately figuring out how to behave in that situation and solve their problems, this way they don’t have to worry about the future because they’ve got “experience” in handling what could harm them

I don't understand how people just Do things without daydreaming. like how are you not off in a silly little fantasy world rn

Maladaptive daydreaming as a child was like "what if I was in the digimon universe" and now it's like "what if someone genuinely loved me even though I'm flawed"
