"Us" & Barriecito (a spoiler-filled LambyLand theory)
i've gotten really REALLY into lambyland in the past few days, after solving it first with a couple of clues from a guide, then again after finally finding those clues myself. and ALL throughout i saw:
it's called Barriecito, and if you've solved basically any of the LL clues you've probably seen it at least once. it's everywhere and it's Really noticeable!!! it's in one of the first clues, found just by playing the game and exploring for long enough. this is usually the first one you'll see:
it's hidden on the contact us page, giving us a bible verse about patience as a hint towards afking there to get the strange voice message:
on the secret GUARDIEN4 parents page, it replaces all of the normal fonts:
and the one that's most interesting to me... the prophecy on the prophecy page uses it:
all of these are really weird!!! and my first theory, as well as my friends' is that this font represented the guardian.
the first appearance is directly linked to the guardian, as the game world is mostly just you running around, following the guardian when they appear, then eventually ending up in this room after following them enough times. so, logically, that must be a message from them, right?
then, you access the weird secret parents page by typing their username (GUARDIEN4) into the email spot in the parents page. the whole thing reads like the guardian trying to mimic the devs of the game & sort of apologizing on their behalf, as the guardian's whole thing is that they want to protect children or whatever.
but when you think about this more... it doesn't make any sense. the only thing wrong with lambyland appeared to be the guardian, so why would it write a whole apology from the "devs" about itself? maybe it regrets what it did, but that's unlikely for reasons you'll see in a second.
looking at the other uses of the font, the guardian theory completely falls apart. the prophecy seems to be about overcoming and "sealing" the guardian (which happens in the ending), which would be weird for the guardian themself to prophesize like that, especially in that context. it could be said that the guardian is linked to a praying mechanic, and ramuel prays to get the prophecy, but i don't really know about that.
the most damning evidence to me is the "contact us" audio. the hint being in the font implies to me that the speaker is also the font-user. the speaker mentions that they "have to be subtle" as "someone could be watching us", probably referring to the guardian, as the guardian seems to be the only person left in lambyland besides you and the speaker.
if the font-user isn't the guardian then who are they?
i think they're 7Days Developer, the creators of LL.
my first point is that they quite literally take the role of the developers twice. first in the secret parents page, and the second is in the secret about us page shown at midnight. see the second paragraph of that page:
both of these aren't AS obvious as you would think, as the first could be someone apologizing on their behalf, and the about us page seems to be pretty normal text-wise (not mentioning the shutdown of LambyLand at all, seems to be written before that) and is only weird through having the nightmare css applied. but if the font-user IS the developers, both of these make a lot of sense. perhaps they returned an older and more detailed draft of the about us page to give us more information?
my second point towards this is that the font-user usually refers to themselves in the plural. while the voice in the contact us audio seems to be singular, they refer to themselves as a part of a group, ending the audio with "we will be waiting. we hope to see you soon." you also find the message on the very page that used to be for contacting the developers. come on!!!
my third is that at the very very end, the font says "remember us, remember ramuel, remember the evil was once sealed." this is moreso a general point against the font-user being the guardian, as they refer to themselves separately from them.
i kind of see a bit of evidence against this theory, but not enough to form an opposing one so i'm sticking to it for now.
specifically, in the source code of the recipes page, you can find this:
which is completely different than anything else on the website. it's not a developer comment like the other ones hidden in the html, and it has that plural "we" again. this seems to be a character IN lambyland, and "it" probably refers to the guardian and how they either got the game shut down, or as they say in the ending comic, wanted to "slowly convert [LambyLand] into the ideal worshipping platform for the real beings". i personally like to think this is ramuel & separate from the font-user, but there's no real evidence for that.
all of this really really makes me wonder what the hell the actual story of lambyland is, outside of the guardian being some kind of demon and getting the game shut down. like, if ramuel banished them in the final comic, does that mean ramuel is real too? especially if that site comment is ramuel? if the font-user really IS the developers and the prophecy page is ramuel speaking (as it's implied to be), does that mean the developers gave ramuel the prophecy, and therefore also know that he's real? it seems like there's a whole extra layer to this whole thing i haven't seen anyone talk about. weird!!
and like, what's the point of all of it? clearly someone is keeping the website around for whatever reason, probably waiting on someone to come across it and... do what? just learn about what actually happened, i guess? that's what the ending implies at least. maybe it's the developers, leaving little hints & clues on the website so that someone, one day, would finally find out that the hacker WAS in fact a demon, and that lambyland is sentient, or something? because of the final comic? unless ramuel represents something else overall? i don't know!!!!
either way, that's all i've got. if you have any thoughts or other ideas, i'd love to hear them in a reblog or whatever! or even a dm if you really want to yap back and forth!
