Ronin AU Leo at 28 when he was at his lowest vs Ronin AU Leo at 38 (Peepaw mode)

I really love the colors and the shading. I love that 28 yo Leo's eyes are the same red as Raph's mask, both brighter than his slider marks. I love his pose, his anger. I love the way 38 yo Leo grabs his younger self's shoulder, I love the concern and understanding in his expression. I love that he looks in a better place than 28 yo Leo but that he's still holding on his own sword, which has Donnie's mask too. We understand there will still be loss in the future, there are still hard times ahead, yet Leo doesn't lose himself in his sorrow and grief. He recovers, even if only to some extent.

This AU is my invention, a somewhat fusion with the IDW comics The Last Ronin run. My main point is showing that 20+ years in the Apocalypse is fucking long, and exploring Leo between his 16 yo self and his peepaw self (in a very self indulgent way, tbh). I love all Peepaws, but I wanted to create my own spice. And what could give more spice than a troubled, secret past, lol.

I planned him to be more mature at the end (I'm sending him back in the present somehow, shh)

Plus, I enjoy "Raising Children in the Apocalypse with All Its Pros and Cons" storylines, especially when they center around the beauty of everyday stuff that keeps you human, yknow ^^
