i guess this is a spoiler, but have another April
.
.
I spent too much time trying to figure out how to make her look glowy. Also, I think it's time I start putting more effort into making backgrounds... anyway:
Assuming you've seen this post, then you'll remember that April has the ability to predict an individual's future based on their actions. Her power, "Spindle", utilizes intangible strings that stem from a person's being.
With these strings April is able to read a person's personality, thinking, and intentions. These aspects of her power are what allows her to see into futures— that and plain old magic.
Over the decades, Spindle has been honed into an especially valuable tool. Her predictions are almost always correct, save for a detail or two that either doesn't play a major role in the overall future, or an unseen (typically dismissible) action that contributes to the future.
When prophesizing, April loses some amount of awareness depending on the importance of a vision.
Minor visions may cause brief lapses in focus, while major prophecies will cause April to disconnect with reality in a trance-like state. In these instances there's nothing that can bring April back to awareness. She calls these events "far-seeing" (because she's dramatic).
While April's body is catatonic in the physical world, her mind is elsewhere.
During a trance April has to seek out the vision herself. As shown in the photo, her dreads elongate and intertwine with a Due Cord. This union acts as a guide to the observed, and tethers her to the vision.
Upon reaching the vision, April is incapable of:
Seeing beyond the relative area;
Looking away;
Leaving the setting;
Interacting with the environment;
Interacting with people in the environment; or,
Interfering with death.
Due Cords (and thus major prophecies) last between 5 and 10 minutes. Afterwards, her dreads return to normal length and the trance is broken.
As April has come to learn: minor prophecies can be disproven; major prophecies cannot.
During her time alive, April had to learn the hard way that death predictions can't be unchanged. She's since learned to accept it.
