Oh not at all. Celeste tries to get herself to care about Shirley but she just cant bring herself to do it, she's not motherly at all. Celeste just sees Shirley as an avenue to get money and only intervenes with whatever she's doing if it may impact her own public image and income. Outside of that Celeste usually leaves Shirley on her own so she can hang out with her boy toys

They're still ongoing so yeah there has def been more development within the story. I do have to say to others who are considering reading it because of me posting about it: While I like it I wouldn't say it's Good. The art is good but the story is kind of a mess and there's like three billion things going on at all times and there's time travel and aliens and super-people and shit. It is A-Lot to take in. But it scratches the same spot vbros did for me with weird cartoon worlds with insane shit always going on in the background no matter what, I enjoy the kind of absurd world its built up, but as I said its very messy and all over the place. They're trying to stuff all of these elements into such a small amount of space with how each book only has seven chapters and about 22 pages to each of them.

I love how roberts characters have cartoony and exaggerated bodies but still have realistic detailing. Its super cool when its clear someone knows a lot about drawing the human body and is able to stretch and bend it into a more distinct silhouette

from what ive heard yes lmfao. since the comic is still on going they were just kind of like doing whatever with it. I have not seen a single person whos an umbrella academy say they like how the show ended
