The executions in Space Marine 2 are among my favourite bits not just because they're gloriously OTT and violent but because what you're also doing is royally fucking up actual monsters.

They're these horrible, horrible alien beasties or nightmarish abominations - the kind of thing that'd rip a mortal man to shreds - and you are absolutely wrecking them. Just, going to town in the most brutal way.

It's the tyranid ones that get me. These bit spiky snarly beasts and you're there ripping off arms and shoving stolen claws through heads.

Made monsters of our own, indeed.

I was going to say something along the lines of "Russians are notably indiscriminate in what they bomb" only to catch myself and remember that they actually do seem to demonstrate a certain fondness for hospitals, apartment buildings, power plants, and basically anything with a strong whiff of 'civilian' about it.

(Also, the argument "If they did there'd be nothing left" reminds me strongly of the "Israel isn't committing genocide because if it was it'd be super good at it and Gaza would be lifeless by now".)
