I still can't get over the idea of someone (apparently) using a boxcutter to (allegedly) cut a three-hundred-and-fifty foot gash in fucking anything.
Three hundred! Nearly a hundred metres! Did you have to squat the whole way? Or crawl? Or were you in the pool? How sharp is your box cutter?
It's clearly bollocks, but it's just so unfeasible!

I am ever-amazed at the people in America who really go out of their way to ignore the whole 'seperation of church and state thing' or try to play it down.
Like, it's all in writing, it's all very clear.
You can either say "Fuck it" and do it anyway or else go along with the wishes of your vaunted founders. Trying to split the difference, do the opposite of what they wanted, and then claim that actually it is what they want makes no sense.

Like, when I was younger I used to twist and turn and squirm in distress whenever I saw what other people were doing with their lives, it used to torment me. But now in my dotage I have reached a realisation: I don't want to do what they're doing. And this is good, because I never will. Not to be oversalty but this sort of thing always rubs me up the wrong way, because doctors also do dishes, you know?
The weight of your constant experience can feel mundane and crushing, and you'll see little blurts from other people - other people you had contact with, and who ergo feel real and tangible - and see that one slim sliver of their life and think that somehow that is the total of their existence.
Oh, they're a doctor all the time constantly, being worthy twenty-four-seven with no let up or pause, no doubt, no regrets, and here I languish.
And it's like no, no, not at all.
People will look at someone else doing something and think it's something incredible beyond their reach, then do it themselves but shrug it off as unremarkable because they did it and like no.
No-one's counting points. You don't get a prize at the end.
The dishes are going to need doing regardless.
(I don't know if any of that is at all relevant to any intended spirit of the posts involved, but looking at what other people are doing is something my wife sometimes does and it drives me to despair. You can't be living your life and glance at a fraction of someone else's and feel bad about it. You know?)
