This fourth of July, I want to take some time to be grateful for the thing that makes us, a nation, so special. Something that we have, which few other countries- even the richest- have managed to achieve. Something that we should remember to take pride in, despite our faults: household air conditioning

okay if this breaks containment I think my asian grandparents would be proud of this post being my legacy. but for their sake i must clarify my personal stance. NO SHOES IN THE HOUSE AT ALL

i think the reason steve as public property narratives don't really do it for me is because the only thing we've seen in canon is the opposite so it kind of just falls flat. like in catfa when he's supposed to receive that medal and he just doesn't show up? steve just kind of doesn't do things he thinks are stupid and he doesn't want to do so it never really does anything for me when people try to push the opposite like it makes sense especially in the 21st century when he's the most passively suicidal man on planet earth like really are you guys underestimating how much of a recluse he can be if he puts his mind to it? do you think all that stubbornness everybody lovesssss to hyperbolize from the 20th century just disappeared or did it just reshape itself into a more habitable mold for the circumstances. i'm thinking about all this because i'm thinking about what his first 4th of july must have been like in the 21st century i'm sure everybody and their mother was like let's have a parade and you're heading the parade. let's have confetti and fireworks and your name in the sky. and he was like actually i don't want to do any of that and furthermore it's my 27th birthday so i am going to stay at home and watch reruns on the tv while chainsmoking until i fall asleep on the couch instead. and he did. and it's a bit of a scandal and a bit of a letdown for a lot of people but you know what. after that nobody ever told him to make a twitter account again
