idc that the graphics got better over time i'll forever maintain that dao's cutscenes were the best of the entire series based on atmosphere alone

the other part of the 'weisshaupt is setting the hof up to fail' thing for me, and this is where it rly is a matter of interpretation, is that i don't think institutions act rationally. is it rational to set the hof up when it might jeopardize having a fereldan arling for the wardens? no, it's not. but i do 100% believe in institutions that prioritize things like ensuring that any threat to the way the institution does things is squashed even to their detriment. and tbh it rly is the fact that they seem to have little to no sensitivity re: the orlesian occupation of ferelden that has convinced me of this, whether it's just populating vigil's keep w orlesian wardens or the warden-commander in a dead hof worldstate being non-negotiably orlesian, that is the deciding factor. i think they are, as evidenced by the massive failure that is corypheus, an institution that thinks they're so necessary and so untouchable that 'grey wardens don't interfere in politics' is more than just a blatant lie, it's a specific kind of hypocritical arrogance. celene personally presents warden-commander caron/andras/kader with their armor. and that orlesian warden has to deal with the unfortunate but understandable mistrust and dislike of their fereldan neighbors essentially immediately.
