i think its really neat that we dont actually see lothering being destroyed in dao. we are told that once we leave we might not be able to come back, we are incentivized to take our time there, but we dont see what actually happens in lothering and instead, you discover lothering is gone by looking at the map and the the dead skull with the description. you can only imagine what happened to everyone there and i think it adds to the atmosphere of the blight? there is only so much 2 wardens can do, and that will include places you cannot save that you have no option of coming back to and instead to just keep pushing forwards in hopes of preventing another lothering from happening
this is the first thing ive drawn in months. thanks dragon age

Scenery in Dragon Age: Inquisition 22/??
pointless
Warden: “You should let it go.”
Loghain: “Should I? How do you give up what’s grown into you?”
DRAGON AGE II (2011) dev. Bioware "You lead me to strange places, Hawke." "I’ll take you to stranger places than this, just watch."
DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS REPLAY → 44/?
I would like to understand Loghain better, if possible. Well, he was once a farmer when he was a boy, if you can believe it. I never could myself. He’s useless with plants, for one thing.

Denerim's Alienage
i love how much of a cunt loghain is during return to ostagar. your honor he makes me laugh
& it's impossible to draw the line between what he genuinely believes and what he has to believe because he simply cannot afford to go wallowing in guilt or regret. he's constantly calling cailan a whelp and a fool and diminishing him, but, like, loghain did not want him dead in the first place. what he did was necessary even if the outcome was not desirable, and yet after the fact he's dedicating a lot of mental effort to making it seem, if not desirable exactly, much more emotionally acceptable.
but that was his son-in-law, who he watched grow up and helped raise, who loghain both loved and was so deeply disappointed by because he was maric's son and could never have hoped to live up to his father in loghain's eyes. and it's worth asking - if cailan turned out so badly as a king, why? who failed to make him one? loghain could never hold maric at fault for anything. was cailan just born like that? was it because he was raised in relative comfort and ease while loghain and maric had to fight tooth and nail for ferelden's independence? maybe it was eamon's fault? is there any part of loghain that assigns at least some of the blame to himself?
^ he doesn't say don't take him down. he assumes it is still necessary, just after the danger has been dealt with. he disapproves of just leaving him there. i love you freak.
and who exactly raised cailan to be such a fool, loghain.
