But that's not what that line means. Because to Nydas, bleeding out and dying on the floor, with a sword driven through his best friend's heart, there is no future. There is no great race to the top. No eventual public recognition or the end justifying the means. There is just a reflection on who he was, and who he has become. The life that he lived. When he was just a scrappy pirate, fighting on blood-soaked docks, trying desperately to survive with barely anything to his name... he was a dreamer. And he dreamed of reaching the sky. He dreamed of a beautiful flying city. And in his last moments, even after every bit of pain and destruction that the hubris of this Age has caused, after it killed both him and his closest friends... he is still a dreamer. He got his flying city. And maybe no one will be grateful. And it will never become more than what it was. And maybe it ended in destruction. But the dream was earnest. Even if its consequences were horrifying, the dream was earnest and beautiful. It kept him going. It helped him grow. It's important to dream.

shane and yuuri met and became friends while yuuri was training in detroit.... victor and ilya have each others' numbers and have drunk called the other on several different occasions... this is what divine winds have told me 😌☝

2) bears were more human shaped than dogs or cats so naturally they were both capable of both domesticity and humanlike behavior. i envisioned it like having a short lil buddy with the intelligence of a small child. a little pal i could cuddle with who would hang out with me at the beach on weekends. we would go on a road trip together. we would have tea parties together, which would be cute bc bears don't drink tea or have the dexterity to sip from a teacup, but they are smart enough to be taught to hold a (very very sturdy) cup between their paws and pretend. i was going to wear straw hats and we would sit in the garden, my little pet bear and me. these were concrete plans i had and yet i must live here in this petty thieving devastation of a reality, where tiny bears do not frolick and lick jam off my fingers.

This movie/book has gripped my soul a little too hard 😭
