What would you say is different or the same about your AU compared to the canon show?
β¦β¦β¦ There's a lot that's been altered or completely overhauled, but hereβs some of the core differences. (Future posts are planned that will go more in depth):
β¦ Base Mythology
7CC is polytheistic. Christianity and a mix of Judaism is still the main theme, but there's other deities and their respective religions that exist. Same with myths and folklore. The more people that believe in a concept, the stronger that thing is. YAHWEH and Lucifer essentially won the popularity contest and both get to lord over the "weaker" gods in their realms.
β¦ Hell and Heavenβs Relationship
Things between both realms are still rife with conflict, but they rely on one another to function. God needs something to triumph over, and Lucifer needs something to corrupt. The typical "Universe Needs Balance" concept. Yearly purges are also not enacted by AngelsβHellβs suffering is self contained.
β¦ Hierarchy, Politics, and the Judgment System
Heaven and Hell now have a joint βCourt Systemβ dedicated to figuring out which human goes where. Thereβs established criteria used to gauge how worthy a Soul is or not, with the Ten Commandments serving as the foundation.
There's other major changes on the inner workings of Heaven and Hell, like what rules there are, how they function as a society, and the class differences and biases. There's also going to be more focus on phycology, cultures, time periods, social standards, and the experience of just being alive in general.
β¦ Sinners & Their Power Leveling
There's more exploration on how sinners work, can amass power, die, and regenerate. They now have more discernable appearances from Hellborn and different sinner βtypesβ based on their biology and abilities.
β¦ Environment & Ecosystem
The environments seen in the show are getting more species, territories, technologies, and different styles of architecture. Places in Hell are a lot more hazardous and range from strange to downright nightmarish. Heaven is a lot less of a cyberpunk city and more like an endless sky full of different floating fantasy islands and monuments.
β¦ The Morningstar Family
Tons of the cast are different, but I feel these three have some of the most important changes to introduce. Family conflict will still be happening, but for completely different reasons since theyβre both happily married and present in Charlieβs life.
β¦ Lucifer Morningstar
Lucifer is still an incredibly zany little man, but he doesnβt resent his position in Hell or have depression. He loves the chaos and stands proud as ruler alongside Lilith, is constantly sewing fun wherever he can. Underneath the charismatic, goofy persona is a man apathetic about people's pain.
He's a serial trickster and gaslighter, is the main reason Charlie struggles with self worth and doubt.
β¦ Lilith Morningstar
Sheβs closer to her jewish mythology lore. God banished and then cursed Lilith with infertility after she refused to submit to Adam. She kidnaps children's souls to fulfill her wish of being a mother, but is always left feeling unsatisfiedβeven after Charlieβs creation. She currently runs a βsanctuaryβ where children's souls reside βsafeβ and far away from most of hellβs residents.
She's controlling and narcissistic, is the main reason Charlie ended up so sheltered.
β¦ Charlie βMagneβ Morningstar
Since Lilith couldnβt have a natural birth, Lucifer and his fellow Goetia banded together to simulate one. Charlie was created through a combination of blood, magic, and soulsβessentially a supercharged golem. A lot of Hell's residents (especially some Goetia) frequently clash with her altruistic nature, but she isn't 100% hated or unpopular in this AU. She gets to have some more pre-established friends and allies.
β¦β¦β¦ Again, there is much more to be elaborated on, but they'll be getting dedicated posts. I can't promise I'll be consistently active online, but I'm always working on this AU behind the scenes.
Thank you for the question anon!
