where love begins
This last weekend I finished my initial draft of For a Horse and Horseman Volume 3, which means FAHAH is now officially a complete story (at over 330k words in total). It comes back from break soon, so there's never been a better time to read or get caught up! I'm really proud of the upcoming ending. These guys have led me on a complete emotional journey over the last nearly three years. Writers on AO3 agree
For the low low price of FREE you can read my fantasy novel series about horse princes in love!! It's also my birthday. Just putting that out there
hey quick question uhhhh did Tolkien ever mention whether or not the animals of Elves live longer than the animals of Men or not?
Cause assuming they don't, and horses and dogs and cats live relatively the same across Middle Earth regardless of who is caring or them, then literally why the FUCK are we assuming Elves have had their first "Short-lifespan trauma" when they meet a human and then experience first hand that human's short lifespan when they've been having to deal with their beloved pets dying off every 10-30 years or so since forever???
alternatively if elven horses and dogs and etc do live longer than those of men, I can imagine certain breeding practices among the human civilizations to elongate the lifespan of their animals 🤔 like, what if certain breeds just live longer because they've been cross bred with the elven variety over time
idk does anyone have any sage knowledge to share with the class
Analog Horror Kaiju Concept: Cambrian A Quiet Kaiju who's roar sounds of Deep Sea vents. Its shell extends infinitely upward, always looking right at you. No building damage, simply grabs people off the streets and in their homes with its thousands pf appendages.
character is 2D it means you can shear him and look at him from strange angles. but if you view him from head on you can't see anything of course

Here are my initial test pages, from just before I came on board to draw the book. Suvi & Ame's first meeting, plus my first Eursulon design sketches.
These are the very first times I drew these characters, and I think they changed quite a bit for the final book! But I still like these pages :) 🌱

concept for some radio dragon. might use it, might not, either way a fun thing to draw
so these are inspired by female isopods from the genus Gnathia which have this massive brood pouch. The idea here is that this dragon's metamorphosis results in this worm-like limbless adult which occupies the brood pouch of an existing large crustacean livestock animal. the crustacean then acts as an exosuit, supporting the dragon on long journeys out of their underground and strictly aquatic home with the aid of a carapace that holds in moisture. the hive employs few of them because of how complicated they are to create, but they are extremely useful for combing over debris that has fallen to the ground beneath an aerial dogfight, rescuing downed dragons and riders, and cutting up enemy infrastructure for transport back to the airbase.
Adult radio dragons' highly derived body types are all purposefully engineered by an architect class which decides how many of each type is required for the functioning of the airbase
