everyone is deleting the caption to this but this work is called âperfect loversâ by the gay artist felix gonzalez-torres. the piece is about the illness and death of his HIV-positive partner ross laycock:
For Untitled (Perfect Lovers) (1991), he synchronized two industrial clocks placed side by side. Inevitably, because batteries fail and things tend toward entropy, the clocks would slowly begin to advance at differing rates, out of sync, having moved, however briefly, perfectly together. (x)
âDonât be afraid of the clocks, they are our time, time has been so generous to us. We imprinted time with the sweet taste of victory. We conquered fate by meeting at a certain time in a certain space. We are a product of the time, therefore we give back credit where it is due: time. We are synchronized, now and forever. I love you.â (Gonzalez-Torres, 1988)
Dumbo may have gotten bad reviews as a movie, but it got great reviews as a way to artificially extend the copyright of a nearly 80-year-old property, which is the whole point of the Disney remakes.
Ahhh thanks. That makes sense now.

when will white vegans shut up
like for real⊠there are so many cultures and faiths that consume animals ethically. we donât source our meat from mass industries that abuse animals and we utilise the entire animal for food or clothing. there are rituals and prayers unique to different cultures that are done to thank animals for their sacrifice, or concepts similar. Those who follow Islam and Judaism (who eat Halal and Kosher Meat, respectively) are required to kill the animal in the most painless way possible. stop telling us that what weâre doing is wrong and immoral when your expensive vegan products are sourced from companies that destroy land belonging to Native Americans or exploit people of colour to do their underpaid labour. Be mindful of other cultures and stop grouping us in with the white meat-eaters.
If you are anything like me, many times you have been riding the subway and have had the thought, âWhat is wrong with this dang subway is that it is not exponentially more expensive and slower than this.â Many times you have seethed, through clenched teeth, âGoddammit, it just churns my guts that this subway does not require me to own and bring alongâand also to have outfitted with a special set of retractable sideways wheels that serve no other purposeâmy own Tesla-brand autonomous electric car.â If you are anything like me, when you get off the accursed normal subway and do not have to then hunt for a place to park your Tesla-brand autonomous electric car, it fucking burns you up inside. It makes you sick! You have had it up to here with these goddamn cheap, fast, mass-transit options that do not require each rider to have brought along an entire specially outfitted self-driving electric car.
Holy shit
âI canât speak for everyone, but this sounds like it is extremely my fuckinâ speed! In the literal sense that it travels closer to my walking speed than to the speed of an efficient high-speed rail system, and transports only slightly more people than I can carry on my back.â

Cameos featuring detailed profiles of Black men and women in precious metals and jewels were popular in many European countries. The ones above date circa 1600-1800. Some art historians relate the style above to depictions of the goddess Diana, others relate them to the association of Blackness and wealth that came though trade in the Middle ages and Renaissance.
You can read more about cameos like these in Black Africans in Renaissance Europe By K. J. P. Lowe, p. 204-206, and Early Modern Visual Culture: Representation, Race, and Empire in Renaissance England By Peter Erickson & Clark Hulse, p. 193-198.
